Visite à pied de Papeete - Tahiti Histoire & Culture

Description

Christian is extremely knowledgeabke about the history, culture and politics of French Polynesia. He ptesents the information in a very accessible way. His English is excellent. He was very awarenlnof my physical limitations and adapted the tour to my speed. He also made good recommendatuons of where to have lunch afterwards.
My guide was outstanding, he knew the history of papeete and was passionate about the city. It was worth every penny if not more.
'Ia ora na ! Mauruuru maitai for your support. Sharing that moment and ideas about the local history and culture was a great experience. Kinds regards. Te aroha ia rahi ! Christian.
What a fabulous tour!! My guide, Christian, was very knowledgeable and took me to places within Papeete that I didn't think it was possible to see. The history, the culture, modern times, all of it ... good, bad and not so good. From the origins, through British, French & Tahitian politics, if you're looking to see a different side of Papeete (and Tahitian) history, this is the tour for you :) Mauruuru roa Christian

Our guide was very knowledgable about the history and politics of Tahiti, and has long family connections that helped him give context. He was also very accommodating when we arrived very late due to traffic, and told us where to meet along the tour so that his other guests were not inconvenienced.
‘Ia ora na Michael. Mauruuru roa for your support. I hope four of you had a good journey in our islands. Stay safe. Te Aroha ia rahi. Christian.
Christian was a great guide. Even though it was just me on the tour, he did not cancel and instead gave me a great overview of the city and culture. **Note: On Sundays the market is closed (just FYI for anyone else) so the city was very quiet.
'Ia ora na Elizabeth, Thank you for your visit. I hope you had good time in Moorea and PoraPora. See you next time. Te aroha ia rahi. Christian.
Comfortable walking shoes desirable for a couple of hours of history and the transition of geography and culture of Tahiti over the last 300 years or so. Really enjoyed the walk and talk from Christian who delivered with enthusiasm, humor and humility. Christian’s ancestral connection to the local history provided us with a unique perspective we appreciated. Thank you muchly for showing us another aspect of Tahiti Papeete. :-)
'Ia ora na Juilz and Mike, Thank you for your visit. Stay safe and enjoy our islands spirit and Mana. Te aroha ia rahi. Christian.
A very well curated narrative of the history of Pape’ete, Tahiti and the Polynesian islands in general - Christian walks you through the arrival of the British, French and Chinese and how these events have shaped modern day Tahiti. The visit to the town hall and the assembly were the highlights of the tour
‘Ia Ora Na to All of you ! I hope you’d à Nice flight back to home. Thank you for your support. Stay safe. Te Aroha ia rahi. Christian.
Walking tour that covers a portion of downtown Papeete near the shoreline and port. Guide is fluent in English and he has an interesting local family history tied to the area toured.
