Our guide Pedro was very friendly, interactive and knowledgeable. He took great care of our group and shared his home city's history, lore and secrets with us. It was a lot of walking, but we had a fit group so we could handle it. The Cathedral was beautiful and massive, a great tour finale. Having a guided tour helped me understand the symbolism and history of this place.
We really enjoyed this walking tour and found it to be a great way to explore the city in depth. Getting to the meeting point was easy—we took a taxi from the cruise port for about €20, but there’s also a budget-friendly option to take a bus and walk, which would cost around €2. Our guide, Santiago, was excellent—very knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the area. He shared fascinating insights into the city’s history, explaining the influences of Roman, Muslim, Jewish, and Christian cultures, and brought the architecture and historic mansions to life with detailed stories and facts. The tour lasted about 2.5 hours and took us through narrow streets and hidden corners we definitely wouldn’t have discovered on our own. It felt like a much more authentic experience than just wandering independently. Our group had around 11 people, which was a comfortable size. During the tour, we also tried a local pastry, an ensaimada. It wasn’t quite to my taste—more like undercooked dough with lard—but it was still interesting to try something traditional and experience the local culture. One thing to note: we visited on a Sunday and weren’t able to enter the main Cathedral as tourists. You can go in during mass, but only if attending the service, as guards won’t allow entry just for sightseeing. The only downside for me was the lack of breaks or time to shop along the way. By the end of the tour, we didn’t feel like going back to revisit places we had passed. Overall, this was a very informative and worthwhile tour, especially if you want to gain a deeper understanding of the city’s history and discover places you might otherwise miss.
There were less than 10 people in our tour and our local guide was VERY knowledgeable and passionate about Mallorca. The insights were informative and highly enjoyable.
Our guide was Eulalia was so fantastic and energetic and knowledgeable. Not just on the tour but also about what else to do while on our stay!
This tour was a great mix of history, culture, and local flavor! We walked through Palma’s beautiful old town while our guide shared stories and insights that made the city come alive. The highlight was definitely visiting the Cathedral — absolutely breathtaking inside. To top it all off, we got to try a traditional ensaimada, which was delicious! It added a really nice local touch to the whole experience. A relaxed and enjoyable way to discover the heart of Palma. Highly recommended!
