L'opéra de Palerme est célèbre pour avoir été le lieu de la scène la plus spectaculaire du film Le Parrain III. Ce monument est également un symbole de la renaissance de la ville après des décennies de violence perpétrée par la mafia.
La peinture murale la plus longue d'Italie (70 mètres de long) représente certaines des victimes de la mafia les plus connues et fait partie d'un projet de rénovation urbaine. C'est à la fois l'occasion de se familiariser avec les visages des victimes et de faire de belles photos !
L'ancien marché en plein air coloré est l'endroit idéal pour mieux comprendre la relation entre la mafia et les commerçants tout en se promenant dans l'un des quartiers les plus intéressants et les plus bruyants de la ville.
La Piazza della Memoria, près du palais de justice de Palerme, est un mémorial dédié aux juges et procureurs tués par la mafia.
En face de la spectaculaire cathédrale arabo-normande, le guide vous parlera de la relation entre l'Église Catholique et la mafia
Le long du Cassaro, vous croiserez un autocollant orange sur leurs fenêtres. Leurs propriétaires - comme ce célèbre glacier - ont dit NON au paiement du racket d'extorsion, ou "pizzo", et ont rejoint la campagne de consommation critique sans mafia promue par le mouvement populaire Addiopizzo. Vous aussi, vous avez la chance de vous arrêter et de les soutenir avec du « bon » shopping !
La mairie de Palerme a été le siège de politiciens corrompus, ainsi que de ceux qui ont lutté contre la mafia.

This is well worth the three hours for anybody visiting Palermo and has an interest in learning about the city. Our guide, Valeria, was warm and accommodating and her passion for the city was inspiring! Highly recommend this trip!
Very interesting tour about the Sicilian mafia. The guide could have just been slightly more engaging.
Palermo is a dump. Lovely architecture but ruined by the national pastime of chucking fags on the floor. Litter everywhere and we think a strike by refuse workers (mafia?) Next on the list was Agrigento-some say another gem and a high point of Sicily. Sorry another dump. Litter strewn along along all the streets and roads and the by now ubiquitous fag ends. The cross country journey was interesting and beautiful in parts but there is still litter. My wife, who studied Development at uni, says it is a developing region. The rubbish and the smoking point to issues evident in a developing country. We won’t be back. Its a discarica
