Everything worked fine, unfortunately no fish bit, but was still nice. Pick up was very punctual
Thanks very much for your supports, next time we will be lucky to catch as a game.
The experience of deep sea fishing in Zanzibar was very exciting. In the morning, with the local captain and team, we went out to sea and caught several types of fish one by one - colorful parrotfish, reef fish and the most amazing was the big barracuda catch. Everyone's excitement was palpable. Guides were always on hand to help, explaining where to line up and how to pull. After fishing, we went to Mnemba Island, where we saw many colorful fish and corals under the clear water by snorkeling. I was lucky enough to see dolphins up close. Fishing, snorkeling and dolphin watching - all this tour will be one of the best experiences of our trip.

The best part of this tour is that there are two types of fishing experiences available. In the morning I tried to catch marlin in the deep sea (didn't catch it, but the excitement was great), and later I got a few barracuda by fishing local style. The crew explained its characteristics by showing the caught fish. Finally, snorkeling and dolphin watching on Mnemba Island - the perfect ending.

I really enjoyed the fishing trip, especially the time spent with the local guides. They know about every aspect of the sea, where to fish more, when to throw a rod - everything is filled with their experience. We managed to catch the rainbow runner and two small tuna. There was only one challenge - it was sunny in the afternoon, so sunscreen and a hat were a must. At the end of the day, I also saw dolphins snorkeling on Mnemba Island. It's not just fishing; it's an adventure.
A wonderful day out fishing beyond the reef. Picked up from Fumba and driven to the very north of the island where we got on the boat. We headed down the far side of the reef and around a popular snorkelling island where we could have stopped to snorkel with all the gear provided ok the boat. We caught a kingfish in the morning and the captain was very knowledgeable and persistent ok checking the lures and tackle for seaweed as well as changing lures depending on the visibility in the water. On our return journey we bumped into 2 pods of dolphins one of which was within touching distance of the boat. All in all a wonderful day out topped off by eating out fish for dinner.
Thanks you for your supports was great experiences ..
Together with my husband this trip done. The description states that it is considered which bait fits best. We have received no explanation at all. I didn't get a rod in my hand once. My husband was allowed to hold the rod once after bite, in order to reel in the fish for the photos for his own PR. Unrefrigerated food and drinks on board. All in all 4 hours on a boat to go with the locals without having actively fished yourself. The only thing that has made this trip a bit good is seeing a group of dolphins.
We specially asked in advance for different rods for popping and jigging. That were not even at the boat!. Really poor equipment and a handful wobblers for trolling. A decent long trolling tour but no fish. Of course we know that it could be like that but no initiative at all to change fishing method. We asked for that in anvance but sadly this was a typical tourist trap. For this cost we had much higer expectations and a willingsess from the crew to at least change bait for some time and also change method. We saw fish in the water many times but no ability to try to catch them. Sorry to say but this is NOT what the description says. Waste of money! /Glenn
Crew took us out knowing the sea is rough. There is no way for an average tourist to know how rough and choppy the sea is. They basically had two lines and slowly drove around and hoped to catch something. No skills needed. My 9 year old niece can even do this. No live bait, no GPS tracker, no effort, no fishing knowledge. They essentially took us around for 6 hours clearly knowing we're not catching anything. I've done couple fishing tours and they all informed us about the weather condition and scheduled tours according to the weather. These guys just want your money. To top it off, they cut fruits with a rusty knife. Make sure you have tetanus vaccination before booking this tour. WHAT A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME!
We were looking for a fishing trip in Zanzibar as my husband is a very keen fly fisherman. There are quite a few to choose from and the more professional operators on bigger boats are of course very expensive so we went for a half day deep sea fishing with these guys. Suleiman seems to lead the operation but unfortunately didn't join us on the trip - this was a real shame. We went out with two of his friends instead; they were perfectly nice but didn't give us any information/context/explanations as to what we were doing or where we were going, and their English was limited. The description said that the captain would work with you to decide the best spot to fish and the type of fishing etc., but we were literally just taken to a place approx. 10km out to sea, given some lines to fish with at the reef (kind of like crabbing style), and left to it with no advice! We did catch one grouper this way whilst anchored. The fish the guides caught were all tossed into the boat/a small bucket and left to slowly die which wasn't the nicest to watch over the course of the hour (esp for an animal lover - even though the guys would at least be taking the fish back to eat!). As you can see, the boat is small and really best for short, local trips by the islanders. The equipment for trolling at the back is fairly rudimentary and the lines crossed a number of times, meaning the guys had to stop and untangle them. This was pretty frustrating - needless to say we caught zero fish this way! Which is of course never guaranteed but it certainly doesn't feel like you're set up for success. The trolling technique itself is also pretty unpleasant - on any boat in my opinion, but particularly on one of these boats - we are both used to being out on the water but on rough seas you end up motoring along for ages, slowly, with the smell of petrol wafting around you - it's not very enjoyable. If you don't love boats and you don't particularly enjoy fishing yourself, this is not a trip for you! Luckily the sun was out for us but the water was choppy - in bad weather it would have been pretty awful! All in all, I think it's alright for a half day fishing if you want to get a taste of local fishing techniques and you don't really know how to fish yourself. You get what you pay for on these trips and if you are into the sport and want a more comfortable experience, I'd advise 'pushing the boat out' (excuse the pun!) and spending more on a better vessel with better equipment.
Half a day deep sea fishing. It was a great experience. We caught a nice size king fish. The crew was very helpful and nice. I recpmend this activity
