Cozumel is beautiful and the guy who took us out was very kind but unprepared. He showed up and told us that the company just hired him out for the day and so he didn’t have time to prepare anything for us. We still caught one fish which was fun but he said that since he didn’t have time to prepare anything he only trolled lines behind the boat and drove for hours, but we were never able to cast and just drop lines into the water. It was fun, but definitely felt unprofessional and overpriced for the experience they provided us. A bit disappointing. We started late and came back late. We would have chosen a different excursion in Cozumel if we had known it would be like that.
Thank you for sharing your experience, Cooper. At Cozumel Fun Excursions, we truly appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear that your deep-sea fishing adventure did not meet your expectations. We’re glad you found our Tour Guide kind and that you were able to enjoy the beauty of Cozumel, but we deeply regret the apparent lack of preparation and the unprofessional aspects of your tour. This is not the standard we strive for, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment caused. Your comments are invaluable to us, and we will take immediate steps to ensure better preparation and communication in the future. We’d love the opportunity to make it up to you and provide a more memorable experience on your next visit. Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to welcome you back for a better adventure. Sincerely, Your Mexican Friends at Cozumel Fun Excursions

POOR COMMUNICATION and thats coming from someone who speaks Spanish! From what I can tell, Cozumel Fun Excursions is just a business name that sells your excursion off to independent fishing boats. We took a taxi to the the marina. Security at the gate asked which company we were headed to and she says she never heard of them but still allowed us to enter. We went to the meeting location and nobody showed up. We asked around and nobody knew of that company. I called the WhatsApp number several times and no answer. I sent a message on trip advisor and they finally responded that Mac was on his way to pick is up. After waiting an hour and thinking I lost out on my excursion, a guy Rudy was looking for 2 people to take fishing. It was just my son and I, so we figured he was there for us. He was given no other info, like our names or reservation number. He tried calling the person who had sent him but they wouldn't answer. We just decided to hop on board. Fishing wasn't very good but to be honest, I don't even know if we were on the right fishing boat so I will end it there. As I mentioned earlier, I speak Spanish so that wasn't the issue, I hate to imagine how much more confusing and stressful it would be for someone who didn't speak Spanish.
Our boat guide was great… but the whole “beach break” they weren’t aware of. Called the company to ask about it and they told us where to go. They don’t provide transportation for this and it’s about a 25min walk. Then we get there and it’s closed lol. Once open, we got in and were told there’s no food for over an hour. Which sucked since we were starving after being on the boat for 4 hours with only fruit. Overall, not worth the money
First, BEWARE the boat pictured is not the boat used. Made us very uneasy at first... It was a $500, 2 & 1/2 hour boat ride. Then at the end, the driver demanded a tip. The experience in a word - disappointing. My husband has wanted to deep see fish his whole life and I am saddened that this is the experience he received. There was not any conversation by the boat hand or captain. Admittedly the boat hand was setting up lines and try to change lures the whole time to try and catch a fish... it was a very dull experience... the engine was ungodly loud, even if we wanted to have a conversation with each other we couldn't. The seating on the boat was non-existent. We sat on metal boxes with no back and really no where to brace our selves from the choppy water... This wasn't a "fun" trip or tour or excursion by any means. And I don't know that catching more fish would have changed that... The scenery saved this excursion, thankfully. On a positive note, The gentlemen were nice and accommodating when we arrived extra early by mistake. There was nothing they could do about the rough waters or the fish not biting, unfortunately. But we did end up catching two fish but one got used as bait.... And if the driver sees this... one last tip for you.. Don't demand a tip. Especially if you aren't providing exceptional service or experience. We over paid for the what ever you call this anyway... don't demand more money when you didn't do anything more than required and were not a good host to begin with.
We took our whole family of six and had a boat all to ourselves we spent four hours on the water and caught five barracuda, and one red snapper. The staff was really nice and the captain did a great job making sure we were all comfortable and caught fish. I would highly recommend it.
Crew was great, boat was nice, enjoyed the day. Unfortunately we didn't catch a single fish but hey that's fishing ya never know.
We had a wonderful time fishing! We all caught nice size Maui. The kids had a great time also. Great captain and mate on the boat. Will book again when we return.
