The operator was never sincere in telling us that the main attraction (Ait Ben Hadout) was closed. Then he answers that he didn't know, but it was impossible that he didn't know because a film is being filmed there
Estimado/a Jose P, Lamentamos saber que tuviste una experiencia decepcionante. This ancient Kasba is very interesting. It is quite a climb to the top but you are going to g up stairs beside houses. There is stuff to buy all along g the route. At the top you get a great view. Our guide took us into one of the houses as well.
The places we visited were simply amazing, unfortunately I cannot say the same about organisation and the guide which explained little about the place and mostly limited to take us through the villages and cities without sharing much info with us. Good but can surely be improved.
It's over the Atlas Mountains five hours after Walzazazad. From Mount Tubkar, you can see the Sahara Desert if the weather is good. On our left, we look at the highest peak, Tubkal, 4167 m. I came over the Auto Atlas Mountains six hours after Walthezard. It's almost Marrakech. You have an hour to go.
The pick up took us to a holding area for over an hour. Then we overstayed at shops they stopped at on the way. Then the tour took us to a tourist trap lunch location that wanted to gouge us for a poor standard venue (in sun) and lunch. Because we were running so ridiculously late at the fault of the company, we were not able to view the movie museum. We arrived back in Marrakech at almost 10pm. Not what was advertised. Go with a different company that doesn't cause the delays which ruin the experience.
The city itself is beautiful and impressive. However, you need time to explore it to appreciate it. The drive from and to Casablanca was long and tiring. Especially hard when you share the van with people who smoke or have strong b.o. Not shaming these smokers and people with b.o. but it is something to consider before booking this tour. The worst experience was when we were forced to walk across the creek by jumping on stones and tires. There is a perfectly good bridge to the city but they use the creek so that local kids help you across in exchange for money. Everyone wants to make money off tourist, I get it. But the rocks were unsteady and not ideal for the older trackers. I would recommend that you stay near the city and stay away from the tours.
Hello, we think that there is a misunderstanding, this review has no relation with this excursion, and we are sure that you didn't travel with our company before, for sure, because we don't have excursions from Casablanca to Ouarzazate, so please delete this review because it's not in his place, you can place it in the company page that you had travelled with , thank you for your understanding .
Hiking very very nice but tiring. The journey time is 8h between roundtrips. A must-do excursion, the landscapes you encounter along the way are breathtaking. Ait ben Haddou is beautiful. It feels like going back in time and walking along the alleys of the city is a very special thing. Our guide was also very knowledgeable and spoke 5 different languages. Cons: our driver was completely mad. Dangerous overtaking and crazy speed even on dirt roads. We should have visited 1h Ait ben Haddou and 1h Ouarzazate but once we arrived in the latter, we were forced to stay a maximum of 15 minutes not allowing us any visit to the city nor to the museum of cinema present there. Recommended: yes, but to be improved
Two very different Kasbahs! A visit in the past history of the country. Long driving for one day and if there were not these parts of the road under construction, it would be easier.. But skillful and friendly driver.
