As one of South America's largest indigenous markets, many vendors actively invite visitors to their stalls, and while some travelers enjoy the lively atmosphere, we appreciate that it isn't everyone's preferred shopping style. Unfortunately, traffic on the return journey to Quito can occasionally be heavy, especially in the late afternoon, but we're glad it didn't take away from what sounds like a memorable day overall.
