Il a construit un grand château et un donjon vertigineux pour montrer sa puissance. Great experience! Naoco was a great guide with knowledge of the castle and Japanese history! The castle itself is beautiful and a must-see when in Osaka!
The main critique is that Osaka Castle just doesn't require a tour guide. It's more like entering a museum, with carefully arranged glass cases & a set walking path. Our tour guide lacked any insider knowledge, she read from the printed PDF files. The only benefit obtained from this tour was the guide showed us a few exterior picture locations that would have been hard to find otherwise. My opinion, save the money, utilize a self guided tour and spend time walking the exterior grounds, that's the best part.
We are sorry to hear that we failed to meet your expectations. The castle itself is not original but was rebuilt in 1931 and is indeed more like a museum. Usually, the guide gives you an overview of the history and introduce you to the unique aspects of the castle in a way that's easy to understand, of course with an insider knowledge. We will forward your review to the guide assigned to your tour and make sure that she will do better the next time. Again, we sincerely apologize for not being able to give you a wonderful experience as we promised. If you ever give us another chance, we promise to give you one the next time.
We enjoyed the tour with Yuri, he was very knowledgeable about the Castle’s history and various battles that took place around it. It was nice to get right in and not have to wait in any lines too, we went through each floor on the way to the top and had a nice view of Osaka

We did the castle tour with Hina today. She guided us to the fast lane to enter the castle bypassing the long queue waiting in front of the ticket office. She managed to explain the complex history of the castle and the fights between the warlords involved in an easy to follow and entertaining way. She connected past history with anecdotes about her family's experience of the castle in a charming way. The tour ended with a perfect spot for taking pictures of the castle.
