We took this tour our first night in Osaka (mom and 13 yo son) and we learned so much about this area of the city. Our guide Benoit blended a perfect mix of history and culture with delicious food. One tip: bring cash! Some of the vendors are cash only. The 3-D low-tech animals on the signage were especially cool to see. The izakaya was a really fun atmosphere and I would not have thought to go there on my own. This neighborhood has so much going on and having a guide there to show us around made it so much more enjoyable. Highly recommend!
5/5 – Fantastic 2-Hour Food Tour Through Osaka - Thank you Yuya! We booked this 2-hour food tour with Tour Osaka as part of a father-son trip through Japan, and it was one of the highlights of our time in the city. Our guide Yuya was excellent — genuinely knowledgeable, and what really set the tour apart was how much history and local storytelling was woven into every stop. Rather than just walking us from bite to bite, Yuya gave real context on Osaka’s food culture, the neighborhoods we passed through, and the stories behind the dishes, which made the whole experience feel far richer than a typical tasting tour. He also took us to some hidden spots well off the usual tourist path — the kind of places you’d never find on your own. On top of that, when Yuya heard my son was into anime and manga, he went out of his way to take us to some fantastic spots and helped him track down items he’d been struggling to find anywhere else. That extra effort turned a food tour into a genuinely personal experience. The pace was well managed for two hours — enough stops to feel satisfying without rushing, and enough breathing room to actually ask questions and chat. It struck a great balance between eating, exploring, and learning. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Osaka who wants more than just good food — you’ll walk away with a real feel for the city’s culture and history too, and possibly a few unexpected discoveries along the way. Great value, and a memorable couple of hours with my son.

Our guide did a phenomenal job. We hit an eating place that was off the beaten path and the food was delicious.
Teppei was an excellent guide showing us some of the classic Osaka dishes alongside points of interest along the way. He was personable and spoke excellent English. He took lots of photos for us which was very kind of him.
