A mi-chemin entre le Latium et la Toscane se trouve Orvieto, une petite ville de l'Ombrie. Alors que la partie de la ville à la surface a changé au fil du temps, la structure souterraine d'origine est restée pratiquement intacte. La visite guidée du métro d'Orvieto est donc l'outil le plus approprié pour entrer en contact avec cette caractéristique très caractéristique de la ville, extrêmement riche en histoire et dotée de « joyaux » artistiques très remarquables. Pas à pas, des échos mystérieux et fascinants nous parlent de l'époque étrusque, tandis que des fantômes du Moyen Âge et de la Renaissance surgissent de l'ombre humide. La belle façade de la cathédrale d'Orvieto est parmi les meilleures au monde En ce qui concerne la décoration et sa partie intérieure, peinte par Luca Signorelli. C'était une source d'inspiration même pour des maîtres comme Michel-Ange. Michel-Ange en fait avant de commencer à peindre la Chapelle Sixtine, est allé à Orvieto pour admirer comment Luca Signorelli a peint le Ciel et l'Enfer dans la Cathédrale. Orvieto est une ville et comune dans la province de Terni, dans le sud-ouest de l’Ombrie, en Italie. Elle est située sur le sommet plat d’une grande butte de tuf volcanique. La ville s'élève de manière spectaculaire au-dessus des parois presque verticales des falaises de tuf complétées par des murs de défense construits avec la même pierre appelée Tufa.
Civita di Bagnoregio a été fondée par les Étrusques il y a plus de 2 500 ans. La Civita (ou ville) était le lieu de naissance de Saint Bonaventure, décédé en 1274. La maison de son enfance est depuis longtemps tombée du bord de la falaise. Au XVIe siècle, Civita di Bagnoregio commençait à décliner, éclipsée par son ancien faubourg Bagnoregio. À la fin du XVIIe siècle, l'évêque et le gouvernement municipal sont obligés de s'installer à Bagnoregio en raison d'un séisme majeur qui accélère le déclin de la vieille ville. A cette époque, la région faisait partie des États papaux. Au 19ème siècle, l'emplacement de Civita di Bagnoregio se transformait en île et le rythme de l'érosion s'accélérait à mesure que la couche d'argile sous la pierre était atteinte dans la zone où se trouve le pont actuel. Bagnoregio reste une ville petite mais prospère, tandis que l’ancien site est connu en italien sous le nom de La città che muore ("La ville mourante"). Civita di Bagnoregio a connu récemment une renaissance touristique.

A fantastic trip. The driver was pleasant and professional. He provided great service. The guide was knowledgeable and easy to understand. The locations were amazing. I highly recommend this tour.
The scenery is very beautiful, the whole journey is comfortable and comfortable, the time and itinerary are well coordinated, the driver and tour guide are experienced, and the driving is safe. If you need private space and comfortable travel, this itinerary is definitely a good choice
We did 7 tours with AIM Limo. Hard pressed to choose the best one. Each was a unique opportunity to be immersed in Italian culture. The scenery, food, information on each area was unbelievable. Alessandro and Evano were wonderful to work with. They arrived early each day to get us and never made us feel rushed. They were very knowledgeable about each area we visited. We also used them for our airport transfers. I would highly recommend them for touring around Rome…the Vatican, Colosseum, etc….but you must schedule a day trip with them “off the beaten path”. Their prices are reasonable and the experience extraordinary!
The suggestion to go to unique destinations and venues, that tourists would never even know about was phenomenal. Thank you Allessandro and Ivano! It was heavy rain on the way. There was thunder and it kept raining so much that I thought of going back to Rome, but when I arrived, the rain was flip-flopping and clouds were hanging over Civita, like the whole city was floating. It was like a river on three sides, crossing a single bridge hidden in the clouds all the way. It was a fantastic experience. It was sunny on the way back, and I was able to experience a sunny Civita. It's a wonderful place to be. It will definitely be an impressive day.
We spent the day touring with Alessandro, he escorted us on our tour and made some very good recommendations. Would not hesitate to use their tour service again. If you are concerned about the cost, it's worth it. It's way better than a tour bus, I have had that experience on prior vacations. Pick your tour, pay the cost and relax and enjoy Italy. RJD
It's a lovely tour, a city with beautiful landscapes that suddenly appear when you drive around and you can go around slowly without thinking about the people around you.
This was our fourth visit to Rome, so we were ready for some new adventures. We had an incredible day; Livio was prompt and a pleasure. He had great insights, was personable and fun to get to know, and even taught us a few things about agriculture in the area. We had a wonderful day; I would highly recommend this trip, this company, and this driver.
This was simply the most amazing trip. I really enjoyed seeing Civita di Bagnoregio more than anything else I saw in Italy. Admittedly, I had been to Italy once before and seen the big "must sees", so if you haven't been, maybe Civita is not where you want to start, but as a person who loves the road less traveled, this was TOPS - literally. This little city is situated seemingly at the top of the world. Our driver, Davide, was friendly and knowledgeable. His English was very good and he helped me along with my very poor Italian. He had a broad knowledge of the area philosophies, flora and fauna, history, customs, and food- which we talked about at length while he drove. We were free to roam the sites at both stops, so there was not a tour of Civita or Orvieto per se, but just strolling through these marvels was entertainment enough. Wonderful day trip from Rome!
