Itinéraire

40 min

Well Run and Knowledgable Tour Guide!

It was well run, well organized, and our tour guide Steven was super kind and knowledgeable. He brought us to the cemetery right at opening and we beat the crowds, which was beautiful and honestly that alone made the price worth it. If you are a huge history buff this tour is definitely on the quicker side and more of a general overview, but if you don’t have a lot of time in Normandy this is really a great option.

AM Half Day Tour

We had booked the half day Omaha beach tour with Overlord and the whole booking process was exceptionally smooth. The communications from the staff was quick and on time even as our travel arrangements changed. We booked the AM tour only because we wanted to self explore areas along Utah beach afterwards and did not want to commit a whole day. We packed a tight itinerary so were driving in from Rouen early in the morning and were heading to Mont St. Michel in the evening. As a result, the half day tour was the perfect length for us. The parking instructions were very succinct and clear. As for our tour itself, not sure how we lucked out but we ended up being the only two on the AM tour. Our tour guide, Louis Boubat was extraordinarily accommodating, knowledgeable and kind. He brought us to the American Cemetery first to avoid the crowds and we had the whole place to ourselves for a peaceful start to the day. The rest of the morning was just as wonderful and you can tell he was really passionate about this history of the D-Day landings.

Impressive tour.

The guide was very informative with plenty of historical information. Had answers for most all questions. I’m glad we took the tour otherwise we would have missed a lot trying to do it on our on.

An Amazing 1/2 Day Omaha Beach Tour – A Perfect Morning with Loic!

We ended up doing two separate tours with Overlord tours - The British / Canadian Sectors full day tour with our guide Jean and the Omaha Beach 1/2 day tour with Loic. Both tours and guides were exceptional! Our half-day morning tour of Omaha Beach with Overlord Tour was an amazing and moving experience with the wonderful Loic as our guide. Bayeux was our meeting point and we were picked up in a comfortable mini van. What truly made our morning unforgettable was our guide, Loic. He is an absolute wealth of knowledge, with interesting stories, along with his great sense of humour. Loic used historical maps and photos to bring June 6, 1944, instantly to life. We stood on the sands of Omaha Beach for a very short time as the tide came in so quickly. That gave us a real perspective of what the soldiers had to experience and what they had to plan for the invasion. We had a very moving experience visiting the Normandy American Cemetery where we saw the thousands of fallen. Such an emotional experience. We also visited the British Normandy Memorial which is beautifully designed and a moving tribute to see all the names of over 22,000 who fell in battle. Even though it was a half day tour Loic managed to pack an incredible amount of sights, information and stories into just a few hours and we never felt rushed. Overlord Tour has curated the perfect 1/2 day tour and having Loic as our guide made the experience unforgettable. Thank you Loic!

Highlight of our stay in Normandy

We took the family on the Omaha beach morning tour and it was brilliant. Ramy our guide was fantastic and even our kids 11 and 14 really got into the history and the detail which Ramy guided us through. We cannot say enough good things about this tour, the detail provided of the history, the quality of the additional information and personal insights of our tour guide were all spot on. The family agreed it was a highlight of our stay in Normandy. Thank you to Ramy and Overlordtours for offering this tour. Highly recommended.
