The aquarium is beautiful with an amazing variety of fish, and the large glass panels allow for truly great views, although it does get quite crowded. For future visitors, I would recommend skipping the cable car add-on. It is quite pricey for such a short ride and functions just like the Disney Skyliner if you’ve used it at Disney World. If you have already experienced the novelty of that type of ride, it is definitely not worth the extra cost, especially since you can get similar or better views from the local castles and other nearby attractions if you have already visited those.
Lovely aquarium, loads of different species.
Stumbled upon this after an event at the FIL looking for cable cars - the cable cars were closed for maintenance but we decided to pop in - initially thought it was a little pricy and was worried after completing the first bit as you come out of the building back to where you was and think is that it but…. Honestly one of the best aquariums we have visited so many things to see and it wraps around the large tank in the middle - so many species …… Kids and adults loved it and probably one of the best places we visited this trip
Such an incredible experience. It was as educational as it was visually stunning.
Rita took us on a private behind the scenes tour. My 13 year old said it was one of his favorite adventures thus far. I highly recommend!
We were in port on a very hot day and looked on Viator to find an activity indoors. We bought the tickets on Viator, and caught a cab. Lisbon Oceanario was a short ride from the port. It did not disappoint! The “One Planet, One Ocean” permanent exhibit connects the world’s water sources in a way that shows how everything affects our planet-plastics pollution, clear cutting of forests, climate change. The marine life is extraordinary! A giant sunfish, rays and sharks, etc. in the main tank, with areas devoted to penguins and to otters as well. Despite being there on a busy Saturday, it did not feel crowded. The gift shop is enormous and filled with ecologically made gifts.
This is a good aquarium. Loved the different ocean environments in the aquarium . Kids will love it .
Worth the visit. Plan a few hours. Take your time.
Truly enchanting. For those who love tranquility and relaxing in front of the animal world, this is a visit worth making. We took 3 hours. I am worse than children, lost in admiring and photographing all these creatures. The most charming animals are definitely the two otters and the penguins. The giant tank with all the fish of a thousand species is truly fascinating. I recommend it not only to those with children but also to animal lovers. Cool.
Really very beautiful, large, and diverse. A brief explanation for each animal (in Portuguese and English), without being overloaded with too much text. The otters were incredibly cute. The huge tank in the middle is truly fascinating; it houses all kinds of fish, shark, and ray species, as well as starfish, etc. I could have sat there for hours observing the animals. I do have to deduct one star, as I believe there were a few too many fish in the main tank, and an annoying photographer wanted to take a photo for money right at the beginning. Otherwise, a great experience
