Bring your binoculars! Lots of opportunities to see a wide variety of birds. 🦅 ……,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
This was a wonderful trip. Our guide, Daniel, was extremely knowledgeable and his English was excellent. He clearly knows the birds of Cerro Blanco intimately and he made this trip very rewarding. Cerro Blanco itself is a dry forest habitat and the day we went, in early November, it was pretty much empty. We were able to see and photograph 39 species in about four hours. Highly recommended.
Daniel is an excellent birder. He knows the songs/calls and can imitate them. We saw an amazing number of birds in 4 hours. Cerro Blanco is only 20 minutes from Guayaquil.
Thank you very much for sharing your experience. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the tour in Cerro Blanco and that you had the opportunity to see so many birds in such a short time. Daniel is undoubtedly an exceptional guide, with a deep knowledge of birds and a great ability to identify them both visually and aurally. Cerro Blanco, in addition to being very close to Guayaquil, offers impressive biodiversity, making it an ideal place for bird watching. We appreciate your comment and hope you come back soon.
This is a beautiful dry forest reserve with walking/hiking tracks for various levels of fitness (I went on the ~1.5h trail) close to Guayaquil. The Guide was an avid biologist with detailed knowledge of the park and all of its wildlife, including birds. He is committed to conservation and has personally set up nine (9) camera traps across the park (for examples of his photos and work, see @Keepinscience on IG, FB, and Youtube). I found his answers to questions about conservation and other challenges in Ecuador nuanced, and he was very helpful throughout. This was a great way to spend some time while in Guayaquil.
Thank you very much for sharing your experience in such detail. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the tour and were able to connect with the richness of the tropical dry forest in our reserve. It is a privilege to have guides like the biologist who accompanied you, whose passion for conservation and deep knowledge truly enrich the visit. We appreciate you highlighting his work with camera traps and his commitment to environmental education—these efforts are essential to continuing to protect this valuable natural area. Comments like yours motivate us to continue promoting meaningful experiences in nature. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future.

We were picked up at our hotel and driven to Cerro Blanco where we met our guide Daniel who was an extremely well informed and experienced guide and we had a great morning looking at birds in the reserve. This area is a real treasure for Guayaquil and it’s so close to the city and well worth a visit if you have any interest in nature. Thanks Daniel for the great morning.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit to Cerro Blanco and that Daniel did a great job as a guide. Without a doubt, it is a special place worth knowing, and comments like yours motivate us to continue offering the best. We hope to see you again soon for another adventure in nature!
Our guide Daniel was excellent. He knows the birds, their calls & songs, behavior and history. We went during the rainy season on a wet damp day, but still found 30 new birds to include on eBird for us. It’s always a good day when you are outdoors.
Thank you so much for your comment! We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the experience despite the rainy weather. Daniel is passionate about birds and we are proud to know that his knowledge made a difference in your tour. 30 new species for eBird is a great achievement! We hope to see them again soon to continue exploring nature together.
We had a great time. Lovely place for bird watching. The pick-up was on time. Our guide Melany did know all the birds. We enjoyed it a lot. Thanks again Melany for the nice half day!
Danny was our guide and was the best we have ever had! His knowledge of birds, the dry forest, ecosystems, etc was outstanding! This was the finest tour we have ever been on and enjoyed it greatly!
My wife and I were picked up right on time at 5:30am at our Guayaquil hotel. We were delivered to our birding guides Ivette Solis and Jorge Abad who conducted an excellent 4-hour birding tour of Cerro Blanco followed by a thorough 1-hour review of all bird species seen. It was an excellent 1/2 day birding tour due to two very capable guides.
