I already posted a review of our experience in Cairo. We flew to Aswan and was met outside the terminal by our guide Amr Makki, ada Mekky, and he loaded us swiftly into the transport bus and off we went right into some touring. We first went to the High Dam and then took a boat to the Philae Temple. After that we went to the unfinished obelisk. We checked in on our Nile Cruise Ship the Beau Rivage and ate lunch. Rested and Mekky met us and took us on a felucca sail boat right, then transferred over to a motor boat to a Nubian village. It was a full day and a lot of fun. Mekky took great care of us. The next day was Abu Simbel and we joined with another tour group on a bigger bus with a different tour guide, Omar. It was a long and extremely bumpy ride to the south about 6 miles from Sudan but it was an amazing site and Omar was very knowledgeable and though we were the add-ons, he paid plenty attention to us. We got back, ate lunch and the cruise launched down river. We stopped at Kom Ombo before days end and took the tour. I expressed an interest in the symbol of the "astonished man," the Egyptian symbol for one million as that is my company logo. Mekky made sure to point out all carvings he knew of the astonished man at both Kom Ombo and Edfu. On top of being a great and knowledgeable tour guide, Mekky went the extra mile several times to accommodate a need, or ever want, and one time went all the way back to the boat to look for something thought to be left in the room. I had expressed an interest in the Egyptian food dish buftek as it is similar to our "chicken fried steak" in America. He had trouble understanding why we would call a beef dish "chicken fried," but on the last day he took us to a restaurant and had the restaurant specially cook buftek with mashed potatoes for me when it was primarily a buffet. I appreciate Mekky and his caring and expertise. It made our tour very enjoyable. Here are some things to know about traveling to Egypt in general. We had prepared ourselves for the extreme tip culture, but after a week it began to wear on us how much cash, both USD and Egyptian pounds flew out of the pocket for tips. It became exhausting. We found we probably needed about 50% more cash then we came prepared with. Another thing, Egyptian Tours Portal tours will take you to one or two shops per day that specializes in something and you will feel obligated to buy something. It isn't high pressure. For example we were taken to a jewelry store in Cairo and it was recommended to buy a silver or gold cartouche. We bought some for our grandchildren. Then we were taken to a papyrus art shop where we were shown how they make papyrus and then shown the store full of art. This was actually a good thing for us because we came over intending to by some art on papyrus. We were taken to a spice shop that makes many herbs and spices and we bought something there, too. On the felucca ride a guy came aboard and sold us some Nubian necklaces. You get the idea. You do not have to buy in these settings, but you feel rude not to. The positive way to look at it, if you were interested in some quality purchases in Egypt, ETP takes you to reputable merchants that would be hard for you to find on your own. So I'm not saying this is negative, and it was always informational and interesting. Just letting you know to be prepared. (Mekky, our tour guide, even got us a good deal at the alabaster factory). Another thing to know, there are people peddling souvenirs everywhere you go and walk up to you to try to get you to buy a scarf or magnets or something. Egyptian Tours Portal is a big operation. Not just a small family tour company. They have tour guides and buses and seem to have influence even. We are so thankful we made the choice to go with ETP. We believe (party of four) they helped us maximize our time in Egypt and make it a safe and enjoyable trip.

Absolutely amazing and insightful trip fullof wonders and so much information. The tour guides are amazing and speak very good English and have exceptional knowledge of the area and ancient Egypt. Big shout out to our 3 tour guides (Ahmed Elgohary (Cairo), Ahmed Hassan (Aswan), Omar Haridi (Luxor). We did a 6 day tour and are so amazed with the amount we did. The guides were so helpful, kind and caring in everyday. We fe/t safe and they always ensured we had enough raterll For 2 young Aussies travelling we would definitely recommend this tour company and 100% if you can pick your guides, pick these guys 🥰🥰

Our time during the Nile Cruise and Luxor was something we will never forget. Mekky was also a amazing tour guide who was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and also super patient. We had a great time!

We booked the ultra luxury hotel package for Aswan and stayed at the Old Cataract Hotel, everything was amazing. The only con was that we only arrived late at 10pm and we had to check out at 5.30am, so we did not enjoy the facilities nor did we see the view in the day. We travelled 3 hours to Abu Simbel from Aswan and another 3 hours back. Our tour guide A. Abd Elmgeed for Abu Simbel was very knowledgable and patient. He made sure we were free from hustlers as well and took us to the train station and 1st class cabin personally. The 3 hours train to Luxor from Aswan was an unexpected experience, despite its exterior, the interior was clean, smells great with A/C.

Yasmin has been wonderful. He has explained everything in detail and organized the visit taking into account the influx of people or the needs of what is visited. It also provides you with old photos to give you a better idea of everything. He's been watching us all along. Definitely a great experience.

Last 3days of our trip we spent in Cairo. Despite the busyness of the capital city, our trip was “a breeze” thanks to our guide Mr Mohammed Elshemei- highly professional, knowledgeable guy with very good English. He was also very generous with his time and made sure we saw all the important highlights of Cairo as well as experienced the local cuisine. The day trips were well organised with no dramas at all.

What a great experience! So well organised. We had a good time and learnt a lot about Ancient Egypt and its Kings and Queens. Our guide, Waleed Alsamman, was wealth of knowledge and also good to answer practical questions about shopping etc. super well organised guy. The highlights of our trip was Abu Simbel, Karnak Temple and Ramses lX tomb in the Valley of Kings. Absolutely stunning! Planning onto coming back again in 2 years time.

Very much enjoyed our guide Mahmoud, he was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to tour with. He made sure we made the best of our time and suggested other side trips to add to our itinerary, that we were happy to see. Highly recommend our habibi Mahmoud!
