We booked this tour for Christmas Day 2025, and unfortunately, it was a poor experience that we would not recommend. The itinerary included attending a mass, having lunch at a Holiday Inn, a brief 20 minute stop, no stop in Greenwich, and then returning to London. The majority of the day was spent on the bus. While the idea of a Christmas Day tour sounded appealing, the execution fell short. The tour was significantly overpriced for what was provided. In reality, we paid for an expensive bus ride and a basic lunch at a franchise hotel. The description did not disclose that the Christmas lunch would be at a Holiday Inn, which felt misleading. The tour guide had never visited the sites before and offered very limited knowledge, which further reduced the value of the experience. The pace was slow, and aside from the mass and lunch, there was little to do. In hindsight, we would have saved the money and stayed in London instead. If you’re considering this tour, exercise caution. Research thoroughly and confirm details with the company before booking. For us, it was not worth the cost or the time.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and we’re sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations. We appreciate your comments regarding the itinerary, the value for money, and the lunch venue. We have noted your points and will use them to help improve our future offerings. Thank you again for your feedback.
Our Bus Driver Ashley & our tour guide Oscar were exceptional and they were very nice and friendly people. Had a wonderful time.
Extremely disappointing experience. They advertise “free cancellation” on their website, but when you actually request it, they ignore calls and messages and never process the cancellation or refund. We tried calling many times and even sent WhatsApp messages, but received no support at all. They take your money and provide no service. Very unprofessional and unacceptable. Avoid this company and do not book any tours with them. Thank you,
Our guide Dolly and driver Ashley were wonderful! The Christmas day service at the cathedral was amazing, we actually received our communion from the Bishop! Highly recommend
Jay and Abdul are amazing. Very funny guys and a lot of fun facts and useful informations. Jay knows a lot of UK history and tips and tricks for travelling
The Hotel Pistono, Monika and Walter Pistono offer a Christmas buffet every year on the first and second holidays, which is unparalleled. The rooms bear the signature of the boss Monika Pistono, which is rounded off by the delicacies of the kitchen team led by the boss Walter Pistono and the very friendly service team. Everything tastes excellent, there is something for every taste. We have been guests there for the third year in a row and will be again in 2024. By the way, the Pistono family also offers this at Easter, in a slightly simpler version, but still of the same quality. We had the pleasure of this in 2023 and will also arrange it in 2024. The Friedrich von Hillscheid and Hilgert family
Visiting the Canterbury cathedral was lovely and learning about the history on the drive over was great. It would have been nice to have been able to spend more in Canterbury. We only got to go to the service and then had to leave immediately after. We also would have liked to spend more time in Dover. We understood that most or all places were closed Christmas Day but we only had 15 min in Dover. Most of the trip was driving in the bus and while the scenery was lovely we would have enjoyed the trip much more if we had the chance to explore the towns we visited for longer.
Canterbury is very beautiful but you don't visit it. You only attend mass. In relation to the cliffs, we intuit them from really far away. We passed Greenwich when it was already dark, so we didn't see anything. The positive part was the guide who did it very well. Getting up early and arriving early, I chose a seat next to the bus window to be able to contemplate the landscape and take photos. The bus was full and someone from Golden Tours forced me to change my seat because it was a "family oriented trip" and families could not sit apart. In my opinion, that is not my responsibility. Please, sell numbered tickets or not admitting people who travel alone...
We had the BEST Christmas Day with David as our tour guide. He was EXCELLENT! He was so knowledgeable, relatable and entertaining. He really knew his stuff! We loved every stop and all of the information along the way. The service was just perfect to celebrate the holiday. Lunch was delicious and full of amazing options. Seeing the Cliffs of Dover was so very memorable. We couldn't have had a better day! We even got dropped off by Trafalgar Square, which gave us the opportunity to see all of the Christmas lights. We couldn't have had a better time!
