What a great night we had with Pepe . What an incredibly interesting tour. A vibrant , informative guy . Great food and drink . Highly recommended
Thank you so much Nathalie!!! it was great time with you and Fio!! keep having great adventures and enjoy the rest of your trip!!!
As far as I'm concerned, Pepe is the best at what he does. His combination of food recommendations and knowledge of his home blew us away. Before we started, Pepe told me that the tour would take 4 hours. That 4 hours easily turned into 6 hours, but we didn't care because we were having so much fun. We made a total of 5 stops at local vendors and the food was phenomenal. He took us through the hidden gems in downtown Iquitos and we sampled a wide variety of Peruvian dishes. Come on an empty stomach, because the amount of food that we had was just right. The tour was well planned out too, because when walking in between stops, Pepe pointed out things about the city that we never would've thought to look for. We looked at the architecture, history, and daily practices of people in Iquitos. Pepe loves his city and his country and was happy to answer any questions we had along the trip. Pepe is considerate, knowledgeable, friendly, and most importantly, he's passionate. Look no further, this is the tour (and the guide) that you want.

I can't be any more grateful for this experience. It was amazing. Pepe made it so real he turned the tour day the best day of my trip. I thought it might feel a little too long but time flew and I did not want it to end. I got to taste the authentic food and drinks from the Amazon, all made by locals, breathing the warm air of the jungle. They adapted it to my dislike of coriander, offering the best vibes the whole time. If you go to Iquitos you HAVE TO do this. Thank you so much for the awesome time I had, this is the type of memory you'll keep forever. I truly wish you the best!
Thank you so much Iris!!! it was a pleasure! i´m so happy that you had a special day!! Thank you for your wishes! Best wishes to you & keep crushing it with your new book!!!
What a fantastic experience! There's nothing like getting to know the local gastronomy to better understand its culture, especially in Peru, where the food quality is nothing to brag about! The dishes I discovered with Pepe (an excellent guide and very pleasant company) fascinated me. It's a new way of cooking, with new ingredients, very much linked to the life in the tropical forest. Special mention to the Tacacho (I still drool when I dream about it haha). This "culinary walk" is also a wonderful way to discover the center of Iquitos, a city lost in the Amazon rainforest, and to connect with other people. I highly recommend it !!!
Thank you so much Laura!!! it was a pleasure! I´m so happy that you had a great experience full of new flavors. Long life to the tacacho!!!! Pepe

Hello fellow foodies and culturist! This experience in Iquitos with Pepe was truly amazing. He is born and raised here in Iquitos Peru and has a very wide range of knowledge, history and culture of the region. This is a walking tour that last approximately 4 hours, with 5 stops in total. You will not only learn about food from the region but also get a history lesson with the availability to ask as many questions as you have. Pepe never got tired of answering mine and other members of the tours questions food related and culturally as well. We enjoyed wonderful local food, aguaje ice cream and refreshing drinks from the region. He offers meat loving options as well as vegetarian options. I give this tour 5+ stars and the next time I visit I will return and do it all over again for a wonderful evening of food, drinks and meeting new fellow people on the tour!

As a New Yorker surrounded by endless food options, I thought I’d seen it all – but Pepe’s Food Tour in Iquitos was an unforgettable adventure. We tried exotic flavors starting with delicious snacks made of yuca, the best leaf-wrapped grilled fish, and then ending with the unique texture of the juane. Every bite was a revelation. Pepe’s knowledge and enthusiasm brought the Amazonian culinary scene to life. The tour was more than just food it was a perfect balance between walking, tasting, stories, laughing and we enjoyed stunning Amazon Rainforest views while sipping amazonian elixirs, making the experience feel magical. What made this tour truly special was Pepe himself. More than a guide, he’s a storyteller and proud ambassador of Iquitos. His passion for the region is contagious, and he gave us a deep appreciation for its culture and cuisine. Whether you’re a foodie or an adventurer, this tour is a must. Coming from someone who’s hard to impress, it was a 10/10. Don’t miss it!
