Voici la description du circuit de 7 heures dans le désert: Nous traversons l'un des plus anciens déserts du monde et nous nous retrouvons entourés par le paysage accidenté et rocheux du désert du Namib. Découvrez les "Ringing Stones" et les plantes fascinantes du Namib, par exemple la remarquable plante Welwitschia, un fossile vivant que l’on ne trouve que dans cette zone géographique. Avec un peu de chance, on peut voir Springbok, Klipspringer. Steenbok, Babouin, Autruches, Ruppels Korhaan et Trac-Trac Chat. Après la pause déjeuner, nous longeons le lit asséché de la rivière Swakop et passons devant l’oasis "Goanikontes". Nous clôturons cette visite par une visite aux dunes de sable Shifting près de Swakopmund. Remarque: le circuit de quatre heures dans le désert comprend un itinéraire plus court et ne comprend pas de pause déjeuner.

Voyagez le long des petites exploitations sur la rive nord de la rivière Swakop dans le plus ancien désert du monde, le désert du Namib. Votre guide vous expliquera l'origine du désert du Namib et vous expliquera les conditions géologiques et climatiques de ce désert côtier. Au fur et à mesure que nous progressons, nous laissons toute trace de civilisation derrière nous et nous nous retrouvons entourés par la scène accidentée et rocheuse du désert du Namib. Découvrez les "Ringing Stones" et les plantes fascinantes du Namib, par exemple les Lithops indigènes, également connus sous le nom de "Living Stones", ainsi qu'une variété de lichens rares, et surtout, la remarquable plante Welwitschia, une plante vivante fossile qui ne se trouve que dans cette zone géographique. Avec un peu de chance, on peut voir Springbok, Klipspringer, Steenbok, Baboon, Autruches, Ruppels Korhaan et le Trac-trac Chat.
Après une agréable pause déjeuner, nous longeons le lit asséché de la vallée de Swakop, bordé d'arbres Tamaris, Prosopis et Ana. Nous passons l'Oasis "Goanikontes", entrons dans le parc Namib Naukluft et observons la "Vallée de la Lune" d'un point de vue. Nous clôturons cette visite par une visite des dunes de sable mouvantes près de Swakopmund.

This morning tour of the Moon Valley, Goanikontis, and canyons along the Swakopmund River was so interesting that the time just flew. The bonus at the end was the welwitschas which have always been on my bucket list. Hans Dieter, our guide, has a wealth of information to share and is also a local Swakopmunder having lived there for all of his 91 years. A truly wonderful enlightening morning. Thank you

We booked a half-day trip to the moonscape and Welwitschia with Hans, originally wanted to drive ourselves and have wg. No permission on Sundays closed office. That was our great luck because otherwise we would have missed Hans. At 91 years old (!), he is an almost inexhaustible source of knowledge about Namibia's history during the last decades, but has not only read it, but experienced it himself. Against this background, the tour was a real experience for us, first with the so-called lunar landscape, then the Guanikontis Oasis and last but not least the drive through the Swakop River (which we would not have been able to do as a self-drive without 4x4). For the finale the Welwitschia, no beauty, fortunately not Instagramm-able, but for Namibia visitors just a must-see. We can warmly recommend Hans-Dieter Göthje to anyone interested in deeper knowledge about botany and Namibia, who, incidentally, with his age could also be a role model for all those who want to spend the evening of their lives not only in the chair.

Used this tour company to go to namib desert and we drove through the dried swakop river as well as through the desert to see moonscape view point and then found the welwitschia plants, very informative and worth the visit. Recommend if you decide to go to Swakopmund.

The tour was really great! German-speaking Hans-Dieter is the perfect guide for this tour since he is from Swakopmund and has been living in Namibia for all of his life. He told us a lot about Namibia, the culture, politics, landscape, animals, so we got a deep understanding. He drove us to the amazing moon landscape as well as to the Welwitschia plants.
