Great for families with kids who love dogs! A little pricey, but overall, with it. Pictures with the puppies was a great way to end.
We love dogs so this was a must for our family. The sled ride was short but a fun one. We got to pet the dogs and the puppies.
A great activity for my two granddaughters ages 9 and 10. They would have spent the entire day with the dogs (their only regret was we had to leave).
We had a wonderful time meeting the dogs and their musher. My husband and son held puppies for the first time in their life. What fun, and lovely opportunity!
Nice quick tour of a musher camp. Got to do a short ride pulled by the dogs, meet and pet them, and then hold some adorable puppies! Bus ride there takes up most of the time, but the quick tour left time to hang around Juneau and the bus driver dropped us off right in town.
It was very interesting and fun. Puppies were adorable thanks for the wonderful adventure!!!!!!!!!!!
Not only is the sled and dogs a great time the history is very interesting. But most importantly… You get to snuggle puppies!!
Great experience! Loved experiencing the dogs run; the barking was loud but authentic. Educational presentation afterwards on the history of dog sledding in Alaska. There was time to pet the sled dog team and at the very end, we got to hold the fluffy sled dog puppies. Hot coffee & hot chocolate is given at the end which warmed us up!
Oh my goodness, I was a little wary after reading reviews for dog-sledding in the summer, but did it because if you go to Alaska, how can you not? I was pleasantly surprised! The staff were knowledgeable and personable. The tour was broken into three main parts and the drive from the ship to the site. There was just enough time for everything. The dogs were the highpoint. We drove up to where there were packs ready to give us rides. Yes, the ride was short and on a road, but it did not disappoint! The dogs were so excited as they barked at each other and ran their hearts out down the road and around corners! I laughed like crazy to be involved in so much love! We then got to meet all of dogs and hold some puppies. As a dog lover...it was heaven! Definitely worth the trip! Don't miss it! An added plus was that our musher is hoping to run the Iditarod next year and that a few dogs I met actually have done the race! Rock Stars!
This excursion was probably our favorite during this cruise. Being able to pet the puppies was probably the favorite part. Our sled driver also had some interesting stories from her time as a race driver. The drive out to the location was beautiful, and our bus driver gave us a lot of local history. There were 3 parts to the tour once out at the location. We rode in the sleds, heard information about the dogs, and then got to see dogs of all ages: retired, juvenile, and puppies.
