Confusing when buying tickets online

The Prado is obviously worth visiting while in Madrid, especially for heavily religious and biblical themed art from old masters. The issue is with buying the entrance ticket. It's easy to be tricked into getting tickets on websites masquerading as the Prado. There's so much promotion pushing the "golden triangle" tickets for all three main museums - Prado, Thyssen and Sofia you'll never know who you are buying the tickets from and whether you'll receive a valid ticket or just be scammed. Worse still, the combined ticket is not even necessarily cheaper especially if you are a senior as there are senior discounts but not online. Supposedly also that buying online you can avoid standing in line at the ticket office. However the only time we encountered long lines at the Prado was when it happened to be the one day per year when the Prado is free due to International Museum day. At the other two museums there are no lines st all.

Ok, just

The museum has an esteemed collection of Old Masters and many figurative works of art. We found it a very heavy experience with so much religious iconography on display. One highlight was Bosch’s “Garden of Earthy Delights” which was a joy to see in person as it’s is much more vivid than often captured in books and prints. Unlikely to visit the Prado again if in Madrid.

Dear Client, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad to hear you appreciated the museum’s esteemed collection and that seeing Bosch’s “Garden of Earthly Delights” in person was a highlight for you. It truly is a remarkable masterpiece. We also appreciate your honest comments regarding the overall experience, and we’re sorry it felt overwhelming due to the religious iconography. Your feedback is valuable to us and will be taken into consideration. Best Regards, Things To Do In Team

Spanish Royal Collection

If you are into art in general and Spanish Artists in particular - this is the place for you. A good priced Museum (obviously not as good as in London) which offers concessions. Spectacular paintings by Goya, Velazquez, El Greco, Fra Angelico & Bosch provide multiple attractions.

Not to be missed when in Madrid.

A stunning museum which is a must visit when in Madrid. The artwork is breathtaking and there is lots on offer. The museum is well laid out with lots of seats to sit and take in the stunning art. There are lots of rooms to explore in this beautiful building. You are not able to take photographs of the artwork when inside. The building itself is also so beautiful.

SCAMMERS!!!ENTRIES PRADO MUSEUM

CAREFUL SCAMMERS!! I booked 9 tickets for a visit to the Prado Museum with friends, first of all I thought I had booked them directly with the Prado Museum, and when I took the tickets at the Museum box office, when they ask me for the locator, they tell me at the Museum that the tickets have not been taken with them, that they have been taken by a tour operator, there was my first surprise, but when they tell me that not all the tickets we had bought are on top I wanted to die... I showed them the bank proof of the price we had paid that I paid more dearly than taking the tickets at the Museum and on top of that we did not have all the tickets... uffff they gave me a bad day because it affected not only me, but the rest of the group.... These pages had to be cancelled so they wouldn't mislead people.

One of the great art museums in the world

The museum will not permit you to photograph the exhibits, and thus that is a negative. But, if you want to see some of the best artwork in the world, then this is the place to go. I alway wanted to see Goya's paintings, and this museum has an entire room dedicated to his works, which turned out to be very frightening as his views of the world are dark. We did not take the tour, and tried to follow the room to room maps, but found that some rooms did NOT have ID #s above the entry doors. We also found a lack of bathrooms. The museum is very large and is just blocks from the ITC Mora Hotel and the train station, and if needed the bus and taxi stands. The entry is on the far side from the ITC Mora street crossing. There are several levels to see, and it will take about a full day to actually look at all the exhibits, we saw about half in a four hour period. If you love artworks, then you will love this museum. Location *****, cost of entry *****, attractions *****, bathrooms **, cafe ****,

Prado Museum Tour

Tour guide was excellent. She provided so much detail on a small sampling of the art including the technique used, the artists message, and perspective. I highly recommend this tour.

alright.

great collection with lots of masterpieces - however it must bee noted that no photography is allowed - this is not clearly communicated and many visitors were yelled at by members of staff, moreover, the queuing system to get inside the museum is inadequate with many staff seemingly not understanding the system themselves - even with online tickets you must queue up to get a QR ticket and then queue to get in - nice cafe although the turn round on tables is slow
