L'usine de thé Lockhart est célèbre pour son thé orthodoxe produit de manière traditionnelle. Le musée comprend une usine vivante qui a été construite en 1936 et un point de vente de thé et des sections de dégustation de thé. Les visiteurs reçoivent un briefing sur les origines du thé pour la consommation, son histoire et ses bienfaits pour la santé et sont expliqués sur les processus traditionnels de fabrication du thé. Mari was a fantastic tour guide. He knew so many details about the history of the plantation and factory. It was a wonderful experience to do the tour and learn so much. I would highly recommend this tour and tour guide.

I booked 2 hours before we came and it was the most incredible experience I’ve had in Kerala so far. All the staff were so friendly and it was truly a memorable day looking at all the tea plantations. In particular, Mari, tour guide, was so knowledgeable throughout the tea plantation walk, the tea factory and the tea tasting. Mari was also so friendly and made the experience so much better. I highly recommend Mari and this experience to anyone visiting Kerala and definitely the in Munnar!!

Excellent and informative tour. Mari our guide was very knowledgeable and explained in detail the entire team making process. He also clicked some amazing pics of us. We had some amazing tea and biscuits in the tea garden thanks to Mari.

We had a wonderful experience at the Munnar Tea Trail (Lockhart Tea Factory). We visited during the monsoon season, and the fresh greenery, misty hills, and beautiful views made the walk truly memorable. The trail took around 1.5 to 2 hours and was enjoyable throughout. Our guide, Samy, was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience even better by explaining the tea plantations and the surrounding area. A great activity for anyone visiting Munnar, especially if you enjoy nature, scenic views, and a peaceful walk through the tea estates.

The Silver Tips Restaurant tour was a truly wonderful experience and one of the highlights of my visit. The food was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented, offering a great taste of local flavors. What made the experience even more special was our tour guide, who was professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable. He explained everything clearly in excellent English, answered all our questions with patience, and made the tour both informative and enjoyable. Our tea plantation and factory tour with Mari was one of the highlights of our trip! From the moment we met him, he was kind, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about sharing his knowledge. He explained every step of the tea-growing and manufacturing process in an engaging way and patiently answered all of our questions. What really stood out was how thoughtful he was. He even brought an umbrella to keep us shaded from the sun, which made the walking tour much more comfortable. His attention to detail and genuine care for his guests made the experience feel personal and memorable. If you’re visiting the area, we highly recommend taking a tour with Mari. You’ll leave with a much deeper appreciation for tea and have a fantastic time doing it!
