We met our tour guide, Ueli, at the train station and spent the next few hours, enjoying the magnificent views of Lake Lucerne via a boat and later on the cog train that takes you up to Mt Pilatus. We did have to depart a little early on the cable car as there was a potential for bad weather later in the afternoon. Our tour guide did a fantastic job of explaining the history of the area and sharing numerous personal stories of life there in Switzerland. We had a fantastic time and would love to do more tours next time with Ueli.
It was a very varied tour with a Swiss guide. He took us to the boat, had a reservation for the cog railway, and answered all my questions. The journey is impressive, and it's a great way to pass the time on the mountain. On the return trip, we took the gondola back, and the view is incredible. Highly recommended.
Thank you for your review and happy you enjoyed our tour.
It was a well organized tour with a nice guide. Got by boat to the train where we had reserved seats. Got free time at the mountain so we could explore for us and had a great lunch at the restaurant. Tourguide travelled with us another way back to Luzern which was great. Absolutely fullfilled what it stands for. And as we travellled just with 2 others, it was not a typical group tour.
Thank you for sharing your experience.
All in all a great thing! The Swiss countryside fantastic. The only downer is the funicular from Alpnach. We barely got off the ship and entered a crowd of tourists. A mess of no good - the helpers of the railway completely overwhelmed. We had tickets with reservations but were still in the crowd. Clear labelling for passengers with reservations and access to the turnstile is urgently needed. It is a mystery to me that such a place with such large numbers of tourists offers such a amateur and helpless organization.
Die Organisation in Alpnachstad hat leider nichts mit unserer Tour zu tun. Aber danke dennoch für die Rückmeldung.
Michael met us at the designated point and was very friendly. He explained the itinerary and then we were off to a memorable adventure. He explained some of the history of Lucerne and the surrounding areas. We boarded the boat for a tour of the lake and disembarked at the terminus for Pilatus. The ride up the steepest tram was as amazing as the views it provided. Michael had a great knowledge of the mountains and explained which peaks we were looking at during each stop for photos. All in all a fantastic trip with a great guide.
Thank you for your feedback.
Our tour guide Abraham was wonderful! It ended up just being me and my husband signed up for the tour and our guide found us and met us right at the meetup spot. He was invaluable with his knowledge of the area and the mountain, had great history and fun facts that he would share and we really enjoyed his guidance. He knew when to offer information or point something out but also knew when to leave us alone to enjoy the views and each others company on such a wonderful outing. Highly reccomend!
Thank you for your review and happy you enjoyed your tour.
Our guide, Ani, was very experienced and personal. No fault of hers, the lake cruise canceled same morning with no explanation. Probably not enough passengers. Then the Pilatus summit was all fog so nothing to do or see. So we just went back down and ended the tour.
Thank you for your feedback. First of all, sorry that the boat did not run. They had a technical issue on it and could not replace the cruise. Second: Thank you about the feedback of our tourguide, I know she made the best out of the situation. Third: Sorry for no better weather - it seems summer time 2024 is not yet here. We'll get in touch with the lake boat company to get a refund.
This excursion is a must for anyone visiting the Lucerne area. The scenery and views are unparalleled to anywhere in the world. The boat ride around Lake Lucerne was a great way to see the area while relaxing on the water, and the cog wheel and cable cars gave us insight to the residents who live off the land. Our tour guide was personable, knowledgeable about the area, and patient while we climbed to the top of Mt Pilatus (7,000 feet).
Happy you enjoyed our tour. Kind regards
Our tour guide Annie was fantastic. So comfortable to be with, very knowledgeable, moved us around with incredible efficiency.. loved her.
Thank you for the review and travelling with us, will forward it to her.
Ani was the perfect guide for us! We enjoyed our tour but really loved learning about Swiss life thru her experience.
Our small group tours are exactly the tour, where you can get a lot of information about life and issues of Switzerland. Happy you had a great tour.
