Au cœur de l'île du Sud, la Nouvelle-Zélande possède son plus haut sommet, l'Aoraki Mount Cook, également connu sous le nom de « Cloud Piercer ». Niché au milieu des Alpes du Sud, au-dessus d'une petite ville alpine qui abrite notre plus long glacier et de nombreux sentiers de randonnée célèbres. Embarquez pour une visite d'une journée en petit groupe au mont Cook. Au départ de Queenstown, vous découvrirez les paysages alpins uniques des Alpes du Sud lors de votre voyage dans le pays du Mackenzie et le parc national Aoraki Mount Cook. Profitez de votre temps libre dans le village de Mt Cook, où vous pourrez choisir d'explorer des paysages incroyables, lors d'une courte randonnée locale, d'un vol panoramique ou d'un après-midi tranquille passé dans le village.

Après avoir quitté Queenstown, notre premier arrêt emblématique est Cromwell, "Fruit Bowl of the South", et ses grandes sculptures de fruits. Cromwell est la plaque tournante de Central Otago, la célèbre région viticole du Pinot Noir.
Sur le chemin du mont Cook, nous traverserons le spectaculaire col de Lindis. Émerveillez-vous devant le paysage spectaculaire des hautes terres alors que nous passons du centre d'Otago au bassin du Mackenzie.
Nous faisons un bref arrêt au village pittoresque d'Omarama où vous avez la possibilité de prendre une collation ou des plats à emporter pour le déjeuner à Mt Cook. De là, nous passerons les canaux de Twizel, en direction des eaux bleues brillantes du lac Pukaki.
Avant d'entrer dans le village de Mount Cook, nous nous arrêterons le long des rives du lac Pukaki, le plus grand lac de la région, montrant fièrement le plus haut sommet de Nouvelle-Zélande, Aoraki / Mount Cook.
Bienvenue au village de Mount Cook. Ici, vous aurez du temps libre pour profiter de cet endroit spectaculaire. Choisissez de vous promener jusqu'au lac Mueller pour une vue rapprochée des glaciers du mont Sefton, de faire une randonnée le long du Hooker Valley Track ou de saisir l'occasion de découvrir l'une des activités incroyables que le mont Cook a à offrir.
Nous commençons ensuite le voyage de retour vers Queenstown. Après une journée bien remplie à visiter les sites, profitez-en pour vous détendre et profiter du paysage incroyable. Nous vous donnerons la chance de vous dégourdir les jambes tout au long du voyage, en revenant à Queenstown vers 19h30.

- Le Mont Cook est un environnement alpin et il est important d'apporter des vêtements chauds, une veste de pluie et des chaussures confortables pour marcher.
- Le Hooker Valley Trek est un sentier de randonnée DOC (Department of Conservation), et nous recommandons uniquement aux personnes ayant une forme physique moyenne de parcourir l'intégralité du sentier (en fonction de la météo). Nous avons une heure de départ stricte depuis le village de Mt Cook et tous les randonneurs doivent revenir à cette heure-là.

This was an incredible tour - Caleb is the best guide I've ever come across and made the day extremely special and memorable. He provided fantastic advice and was engaging throughout the journey. The tour is well worth the price, as you are driven in a small but luxurious van to Mt Cook and back, with some great stops along the way. There is enough free time at Mt Cook to do the Hooker Valley track or 2 shorter walks. thanks for the phenomenal day Caleb and Altitude Tours!

We had an amazing day trip to Mt Cook with Ana! She was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable throughout the whole journey, and made the trip feel relaxed and enjoyable. Our guide, James, was very kind and great. Even though the helicopter flight was canceled, I still had a wonderful time on the Mt. Cook trip last Saturday. And I have a Mildford Sonds trip on yesterday, the guide was James , It was amazing trip as well.

This tour was the highlight of our NZ visit. Amy was a superb guide. She was very knowledgeable and helpful in booking our Alpine helicopter flight. She made the tour seamless even though everyone opted to do different activities at Mt. Cook. She competently managed all the drop off andd pick up times and was just a delight to chat with on the drive, while very competently navigating the way there. We would definitely do this again though Altitude.

We took the day trip to Mt Cook from Queenstown. The tour itself was breathtaking- just the drive was worth the trip. Our driver and tour guide, Amy was incredible. She was so friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to help us book an extra item.

I joined this tour as a solo traveller hoping to enjoy the journey with some company, and it exceeded my expectations. The trip was amazing and contained a few highlights, including the hooker valley trek and a paid upgrade option to experience alpine snow landing. Everything was smoothly organised and run by the tour operators (altitude) and our guide for the day, Sinchan, was amazing, helpful and super knowledgeable.
