Culturally and scenically, this tour was truly wonderful: the group was so warm-hearted, we had a lot of fun together, and the places, waterfalls, and sights we visited were consistently impressive. The food was excellent throughout as well. Unfortunately, we do need to say a clear word about our tour guide. He was friendly and engaging at first, and set a great mood in the group. During lunchtime, he kept refilling guests' glasses as well, which came across to some of us as if he was deliberately trying to get the group drunk. Toward several women in the group, he became very handsy and physically overstepped personal space. The behavior that was noticeably uncomfortable, and which other participants described the same way when we spoke about it. That's a real pity, because aside from this the tour itself was genuinely lovely. We hope the operator takes this seriously. A guide being physically inappropriate toward female guests is simply not professional and shouldn't be tolerated.
It was an incredibly beautiful day, as the guide was driver, tour guide, and entertainer. Although we do not speak Russian, he managed to turn things around for us. There was no cooking class, but rather a meal with folklore and tradition. We were not prepared for that according to the description, but it was good just as it was. We did not experience the wine tasting that way either. Since we do not drink, it did not matter to us, however. There was wine to taste in plastic cups on the street. So if you are not looking for wine, then book the trip. The food was included in the price! Thanks to the guide and the dance with him. He can bring people together!
Think twice before you book this tour. We had a confirmed booking but the tour operator didn't show to collect us at the pick up point (a 30 minute walk from our hotel). The tour provider responded after we'd called Viator to ask what was going on. They said that they hadn't seen our booking and the tour was full for that day (it was then 30 minutes after pick up time). We didn't see anyone at the pick up point who were going on the tour or any sign of the tour operator. Very disappointing.
Great sites, lots of fun,the guide did his best for us so that we enjoy the tour. The dinner was tasty and plentiful.
This was a GREAT value for a full day 8 hour tour - great guide and tons to see throughout the countryside. the meal at the cliffside restaurant was a standout moment of the day but it was all amazing and the driver super friendly. 100% recommended!
