Description
Saragosse est une ville avec un héritage historique et culturel indescriptible. Appelée la ville des quatre cultures; qui nous laisse des monuments architecturaux emblématiques. Dans cette visite, nous découvrirons à travers une visite guidée par un local ses 2000 ans d'histoire, en commençant par ses origines en visitant le musée du théâtre romain de Saragosse. Nous continuerons à visiter ses deux cathédrales principales, La Seo et notre basilique del Pilar pour finir par parler de l'époque actuelle et de sa gastronomie sur le marché central de Saragosse.

Nous découvrirons l'histoire des débuts de la ville romaine de Cesar Augusta depuis son théâtre romain. Les installations du musée occupent un terrain correspondant à des maisons importantes des périodes médiévale, renaissance et baroque. Pour cette raison, le Musée dévoilera une vision commune de vestiges intéressants et d'échantillons de l'histoire de Saragosse des périodes mentionnées.
Nous visiterons l'un des monuments les plus importants de Saragosse, la cathédrale de San Salvador ou La Seo. Il est situé là où il a toujours été le centre religieux de la ville. Auparavant place du temple romain et après sa mosquée. Ses origines remontent au XIIe siècle, après la conquête par le roi Alphonse Ier, d'une cathédrale de style roman, au fil des années, différentes réformes de différents styles l'ont suivie, nous pouvons donc trouver le gothique, le mudéjar, la Renaissance et le baroque. sur ses murs.
Le Musée expose une partie de l'importante collection, constituée de 63 tapisseries des XVe, XVIe et XVIIe siècles, tissées dans les célèbres ateliers européens d'Arras, Tournai et Bruxelles. certainement l'un des joyaux de Saragosse.
Nous visiterons le premier temple marial du christianisme. car en elle est conservée et vénérée le pilier - en fait, une colonne de jaspe - qui, selon la tradition, a été placé par la Vierge Marie qui, alors qu'elle vivait encore à Jérusalem, serait apparue en chair mortelle à l'apôtre Santiago le 2 janvier 40. L'histoire atteste de l'existence d'une église mozarabe à Saraqusta dédiée à Santa María, au même endroit où se trouve actuellement la basilique baroque. Autour de ce temple vivait une des communautés chrétiennes de la ville.
Vestiges de la muraille romaine d'environ 80 mètres de long, à l'extrémité nord-ouest de ce qui était la ville romaine de Caesaraugusta, construite au 1er siècle.
Nous visiterons le marché conçu en 1895 par l'architecte aragonais Félix Navarro Pérez pour remplacer le traditionnel qui se tenait à l'extérieur sur l'ancienne place du marché. Il a été commandé par la Sociedad Nuevo Mercado de Zaragoza et en 1903, il a été terminé. Il est classé monument historique national depuis 1978 et bien d'intérêt culturel depuis 1982.

We had a very interesting and informative tour with Marta, who was knowledgeable and engaging; We learned quite a bit about the history of Zaragoza and the region through visiting the ruins of the Roman amphitheater, Our Lady of the Pillar and La Seo. Particularly enjoyed La Seo because its history and architecture really tell the story of this city and region. Highly recommend!
Our tour guide was very kind and informative. She took her time sharing the vast history of Zaragoza with us and our tour ended up being 30 minutes longer than expected. Due to a wedding, we needed to visit some of the sites out of order. This was not a problem for us but we appreciated the guide keeping us informed. During our tour, we visited the cathedral, the theater and the basilica. Our guide was also kind enough to purchase the ticket upgrade which allowed us access to the Roman Forum. We were able to do this on our own after the tour. The Viator description mentioned that we would also see the Roman walls & the Mercado. Neither of these were visited during our tour. We also did not see the tapestries but this may have been due to the wedding. Overall, it was a very informative tour but we would have preferred to spend less time in the cathedral and been able to visit other sites like the wall or the baths.
We had a wonderful time on this tour. Marta was a fantastic guide - very fun and interesting. We learned so much about Zaragoza. She took us to the Roman ruins. Even though the actual building was closed because it was Sunday we could see the ruins and she explained everything and showed us maps/information on her iPad. She also explained about the town and the church. At the end of the tour she gave us great recommendations for tapas. Would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Zaragoza.

Very informative tour. Our guide was really friendly and very knowledgeable about the history of Zaragoza and the monuments that we saw. Our tour ended up being 3 hours but did not feel like it. Very interesting, well worth doing.
Our guide, Martin, is a native of Zaragoza and a historian. We learned so much from him and enjoyed his knowledge & enthusiasm. Definitely the way to experience this beautiful city from the perspective of a local!
We had a tour with Marta who is a fantastic guide. She really helped us to understand Spanish history and particularly the changing regimes in the city and how each had shaped its fortunes and growth. Her tour was fascinating and definitely good value for money.
