Le monastère a été fondé par Vasilije, l'évêque métropolitain d'Herzégovine au 17ème siècle. Il se compose du monastère supérieur et inférieur. The beautiful and recommendable Hotel Sorokine is so close that good walkers are strongly recommended to walk the way to the higher Ostrog monastery. It takes four hours to get there and back, but the trail is also an experience for all visitors who don’t walk it as a pilgrim. Maybe even a nicer experience, because the traffic flow of arriving and departing cars never stops. The rock monastery itself is very impressive. Gherardino
We went from padgorica to the monastery by train and on foot, and very beautiful, on the way a dog followed us to the station, if anyone sees her( is in the photos, please, give us news, I was sorry, pq she left from very far. The path is tired on foot, but we got out of the letter. Don't go down at the ostrog station, go down the next one, go the direction of the train on foot through a street going up and walk to the asphalt, when you get to a small cemetery take the right and follow to the monastery, it's a bit far, but it's much better the way than at the ostrog station, because we went back there, we didn't know, but it's awful the way through the bush. Anyone who is there, let them know if they found the dog on the way, try feeding and giving water.
My tour guide: Predrag was fantastic 😊 he has a lot of knowledge about the area and answers any questions. He has a good sense of humor and great energy. The locations chosen for this tour are stunning, the water is close clear, the falls have a wonderful walk and too view of the canyon. The churchs were beautiful, all round a great trip.
Seriously, this is one of the BEST tours I have been on. Our guide, Tanja, was just amazing. She was very knowledgeable, easy going, gave us great recommendations, and just overall a lovely person to be around. I highly recommend the Ostrog Monastery tour. This is a must do for Montenegro!!!
Amazing tour guide. She was exceptional and helpful with our needs. Information about Ostrog monastery was great! driving experience all along the Adriatic coast beautiful! Crna gora beautiful!!!!
Tanja was eager to answer all our questions, not only regarding the monastery and its history, but also about Montenegro history, traditions, cultural features and much more! Our trip was comfortable and funny, views on the road to the monastery caught our attention for an hour or even more. Thank you, Tanja!
Thanks a lot guys , this was really funny trip and I hope that you have manage to do everything on "must do list for Podgorica" :)
