Habarana, niché au cœur du Sri Lanka, est un village pittoresque réputé pour sa beauté naturelle et son importance culturelle. Entouré d'une verdure luxuriante et de vastes étendues de rizières, il sert de porte d'entrée à plusieurs attractions importantes, notamment l'ancienne ville de Polonnaruwa, la forteresse rocheuse de Sigiriya et le parc national de Minneriya, où les visiteurs peuvent assister au majestueux rassemblement d'éléphants sauvages. Vous commencerez votre visite depuis Habarana à 14h00. Votre jeep de safari viendra vous chercher à votre hôtel et vous conduira au parc national de Minneriya. Le parc compte de nombreux types de terres et de croissances. Les zones humides se mêlent aux terres agricoles et aux affleurements rocheux, et les forêts côtoient les garrigues. Cela signifie également que les types d'animaux sauvages et d'oiseaux qui vivent dans le parc ou le visitent sont très variés. Si vous avez de la chance, vous pourrez peut-être apercevoir un crocodile ou même un loris élancé gris extrêmement rare. Un petit troupeau de cerfs pourra visiter le réservoir Minneriya sous votre observation tôt le matin. Si vous optez pour le safari du soir, qui est le meilleur moment pour visiter ce parc, vous pourrez également voir les éléphants prendre leur bain quotidien et observer les nombreuses espèces d'oiseaux se diriger vers leurs nids en fin de journée. Après avoir terminé votre demi-journée d’observation de la nature en action, vous serez ramené à votre hôtel.

We had a great elephant safari today and were lucky enough to see three large herds of elephants. The guide always gave us plenty of time to observe them without rushing, which made the experience very enjoyable and memorable. One thing we only found out afterwards was that the tour is operated by an American organization. Had we known this in advance, we would have chosen a local company instead, as we prefer to support local businesses whenever possible. Unfortunately, during the tour the driver was quite persistent in asking for a tip, which made us feel uncomfortable. Overall, the wildlife experience was fantastic.

Fabulous safari. We saw so many elephants, including some really small baby ones, which was magical. The park was busy and there were lots of other jeeps, but we also had quiet moments away from the others. The elephants came so close to the jeep, which was really exciting. Brilliant driver, friendly and knowledgeable. Excellent, comfortable vehicle too. Be prepared for a long wait for tickets to get into the park - 90 mins for us and we hadn’t brought anything to occupy the kids so it was a bit tricky, mainly not knowing how long it would take. This was quickly forgotten once we got going though. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area!

The tour company informed us the day before our trip that not many elephants were being seen in the morning, and that they recommended we change to an afternoon tour. Our driver and guide for the day, Asela, picked us up and was such a great host! He got us into great spots that the elephants naturally came towards and he was also very respectful of them by turning off his engine. Asela’s knowledge of the elephants and other animals in the park was fantastic and we cannot recommend him enough.

Today we visit the Minneriya National Park. Asela was our Jeep driver and he was very kind and nice.He pick up us at the restaurant and take us to all the safari, giving us information about the elephants. He also facilitate us a tuktuk to Dambulla. He is the best!!!

The driver was punctual, friendly and made sure we were all comfortable. He took us there and back for a great price and stopped so we can get drinks and snacks too. The safari was incredible! Seeing the wildlife was beautiful and we saw more elephants than we expected!! Had an amazing time 10/10 recommend

Great experience with our guide! We were able to observe about fifty elephants and a few birds. The few jeeps present in the park do not go for the animals, they approach it and the animals are not wild and come almost into contact. I recommend this safari!

Overall. A fantastic experience. The Guide was wonderful and knew terrain very well. The Guide was on time for pickup and covered entire area very well. We almost saw 20-25 elephants.
