Minneapolis Local Food Tour

We had a good experience, nice walk around the neighborhoods and local cuisine.

The host (Dan) was great. Funny, pleasant to be around, lots of knowledge about the neighborhood and the places we stopped at. A very engaging person with whom to spend time. I got a really good sense of the neighborhood and enjoyed the time spent on the tour. A few things could have been better. The address we were given as a starting point turned out to be a locked, closed building. There was no signage indicating where to go. We waited inside a nearby coffee house and rechecked the front of the building a few minutes before the starting time. No one was there, no sign. At exactly the time the tour was scheduled to start I got a phone call from the guide. While on the tour, the guide had a lot of "not sure what to do next" moments. I do like the idea of giving people choices, but I also am on the tour because I don't know the area. Weather wasn't great the day of our tour, and there didn't seem to be any plan b for giving people just as good as an experience would have been on a pleasant weather day. We stopped at 4 places. We had a fries and meat dish with cheese, cheese curds, and pizza. The fourth place was a coffee house where we had hot chocolate. While all the places were good, I really would have preferred some more diverse options than 3 types of cheese-heavy bar food. I felt this was on the low side for the price paid. The guide would point out interesting looking restaurants serving less common food, and we would walk on by. Overall, it was a fun tour but I think it with more attention to pre-planning it could be improved.

Our guide was excellent! Very energetic and funny. He has a strong knowledge of the history of the city. It was pouring rain so he altered the route and I wouldn't have known any different. Every stop was delish. Great experience!

A fun tour. Easy meet-up. Our guide Dan had a lot of personality and knowledge. We asked him questions that had nothing to do with food, and he always had a plethora of interesting factoids or stories in response. He seemed a bit nervous bringing 3 NYers to a pizza place, but I thought the pizza was pretty good. My biggest surprise were the cheese curds. They sound pretty disgusting but were actually quite light and tasty. I like that this company intentionally limits the tour size to 8 people. Plenty of food, you won't be hungry.

Collin was well suited for the job; he provided a great experience! We enjoyed his food choices and his knowledge of foods and the area. The tour provides a great way to get a literal taste of the city.

Great tour! We got a great history overview and stopped at some really cool spots to try local fare! Tom was really good!!

Our tour was just the two of us & our guide. Loved the personalized attention, tasty food & history of beautiful cityscape along our tour.

Reallly enjoyed hearing about the history of Minneapolis, the flour mills, the buildings, how things changed in the warehouse district, now know as the North Loop Area. The food was very good - really enjoyed the french fry meat dish! I would do this tour again if I come back to the Minneapolis area.

Collin was an excellent guide, going above and beyond food talk. He gave us tips and suggestions for additional food opportunities. Good progression too.

Outstanding, and a great way to see Minneapolis’s rising North Loop & Wharehouse District.
