Nous nous arrêtons dans le magnifique township de Te Anau pour une pause prolongée de 30 minutes. Nous nous arrêtons à un café au bord du lac pour que vous puissiez prendre un café / collation, utiliser la salle de bains et explorer le superbe bord du lac avec vue sur la montagne.
Eglinton Valley offre un contraste étonnant de montagnes couvertes de brousse vertes et indigènes, sur le premier plan des champs de bronzage. Les clients auront la chance d'explorer les longs champs luxuriants. Magnifique à tout moment de l'année.
Cette courte promenade de 2 minutes dans la nature sur des pistes bien formées et des promenades vous mènera aux lacs Mirror tranquilles, la toile de fond des montagnes Earl derrière eux. C'est un défi pour tout photographe voyageur de capturer l'essence des lacs - leur reflet miroir.
Nous nous arrêtons plus loin dans la vallée d'Eglinton à Knobs Flat Camp pour utiliser les salles de bains. Cet arrêt est à environ 60mins de Te Anau, notre précédente pause salle de bain.
Nous nous arrêtons au Hollyford Lookout, assis au-dessus de la vallée de Hollyford. Ici, vous pourrez apprécier les glaciers qui ont creusé ces vallées. Une séance de photos et une chance de se dégourdir les jambes.
Monkey Creek est une magnifique cascade alimentée par un glacier et est une zone commune pour rencontrer le Kea, un perroquet de montagne que l'on ne trouve que dans l'île du Sud de la Nouvelle-Zélande. C'est l'occasion de prendre une photo en gros plan de ces oiseaux insolents.
Nous nous arrêtons juste à l'extérieur du tunnel Homère sur le côté ouest, surplombant la magnifique vallée de Cleddau. Entouré par des parois verticales de montagne, vous regarderez en bas de la vallée jusqu'à notre route dans Milford Sound. Un des moments forts de la journée.
Notre destination pour la visite est le magnifique Milford Sound, un site du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO. Nous passons 2,5 heures à Milford Sound, principalement à bord de votre croisière dans la nature où vous découvrirez le fjord entier, les rencontres avec la faune, les cascades et toute la beauté pittoresque qu'il y a à voir.
Nous retournons à Queenstown, par le township de Te Anau (le seul chemin de retour) et nous arrêtons pour que vous puissiez prendre de la nourriture pour le dîner et utiliser la salle de bain.

Awesome day out with Lux tours and was fortunate to have Tommy as our guide. He was brilliant and would do anything to make your day a memorable one. Lux tours is as the name states. Lux. A must do tour if your in Queenstown NZ
I'll add another 5 star rating here as Luxe Tours deserves more than google 5 star rating. Communications prior to our tour has been excellent and responded to our questions really quick as well. Two thumbs up for Tommy for being an incredible guide and the knowledge he has was just outstanding. He made our tour very enjoyable and let us take our time to enjoy the scenery through the road trip from the beginning to the end. We never felt so relaxed when we do day trip tours. I strongly recommend Luxe Tours that provides comfortable ride and in a small group tour when you visit Queenstown and will definitely be using Luxe Tours again in future.

Our driver for the day was Tommy. He was amazing. We had number of stops along the way to Milford and Tommy was attentive and caring to all the passengers. There were mostly adults, but there was 2 children, although not young children. As a whole all the passengers did our best to make his day easy for him, as it is a long day. On the way back from Milford he stopped so our granddaughter could take a photo of the Kea bird. Tommy was communicative and pleasurable right up till our drop off as we were the last to disembark. I chose to travel with Luxe after a lot of researching the various providers and options. What appealed was the consistency in reviews, small groups and comfort. We traveled out with Adrian who was amazing, knowledgeable, helpful and clear in his instructions.. important as there is a schedule to make. The drive was comfortable with lots of breaks and opportunity to take photos. It was amazing. We arrived at the boats on time and on board Luxe have reserved seating. If you have pre ordered a meal it arrives promptly, meaning you can eat then head off to explore the boat and take photos. On our return Adrian met us, he introduced us to Ben who was to be our pilot as we had opted for the fly back option. Ben was just as helpful and professional making the trip smooth and just amazing. He pointed out things to see as we flew back on what was a clear day. On arrival in Queenstown the taxi was waiting to take us back to our hotel. Overall 11/10 for this amazing trip. What an amazing day visiting the 8th wonder of the world. We were picked up right on time from our queenstown accommodation before doing the rounds to pick the rest of the group up and we were on our way. The lengthy drive was made so much more comfortable by the number of stops we undertook stopping in Garston, Te Anau for morning tea, then Te Anau lake lookout, Eglington Valley (One ring to rule them all 🤣), Mirror Lakes, Monkey Creek (I think?) which was a glacial river, Homer Tunnel and finally Milford Sound. The cruise was amazing with a wonderful lunch served, bar service on board and reserved seating for our group. Milford Sound was gorgeous and something that needs to be seen to be believed. Dolphins, penguins, seals and waterfalls! After the cruise we boarded a fixed wing aircraft with Glenorchy Air and we turned that 5 hour drive back into 60 minutes with views that will take your breath away. DO NOT SKIMP OUT! If you can afford it you need to fly back and I believe it was very reasonably priced. After a magical flight back seeing glaciers and snow capped mountains from above we landed smoothly back into queenstown where we were shuttled back to our accommodation.

Brilliant tour and the best way to see Milford Sound. Tommy our guide is a legend with heaps of interesting insights and the van was very comfortable. For the small cost difference between these guys and the big bus tours, just do it, it’s a long day to be in an uncomfortable commuter bus with 100 other people.

Had a brilliant day trip to Milford Sound with Luxe Tours. Our guide Tommy was incredibly knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna, never rushed us, and made sure everyone in the group got something out of the day. Heavy rain meant we missed our helicopter flight home, but it turned out to be a blessing — the waterfalls were absolutely spectacular as a result. We had an absolutely fantastic family tour to Milford Sound with Luxe Tours and couldn’t recommend them more highly. The day started with a delicious stop at The Merchant Café, where the muffins were incredible and the perfect way to begin the journey. The premium van was spotless, comfortable, and well equipped with thoughtful individual amenities that made the long drive enjoyable for everyone, especially travelling as a family. The highlight of the day, by far, was our tour guide, Tommy. He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and made the entire experience so engaging. This was the highlight of our week in Queenstown! It’s a very long day, but a fabulous day! Our guide Tommy was very personable, friendly, approachable, and full of lots of different bits of information! My only criticism of the day was I thought the nature guide on the boat (Hayley?) sounded distracted and wasn’t always professional, but that is out of Luxe Tours control.
