Meteora signifie « milieu du ciel », et avec leurs hauteurs exaltées et leur inaccessibilité presque mystique, les monastères de Meteora semblent s'élever vers le ciel et refléter l'homme qui aspire à la sainteté. Passez devant des grottes naturellement formées où vivaient les premiers ermites et admirez les vues à couper le souffle. Après la visite fascinante des 3 monastères les plus accessibles, vous pourrez déguster un délicieux déjeuner avec des plats traditionnels grecs et des «Mezedes» dans le pittoresque village de Kastraki. Sur le chemin du retour vers Athènes, arrêtez-vous aux Thermopyles, où s'est déroulée l'une des batailles les plus épiques de tous les temps. 300 Spartiates affrontèrent l'armée perse et les arrêtèrent pendant 2 jours. Prenez des photos de la statue de Léonidas et regardez une petite vidéo de ce qui s'y est exactement passé.

Surréalistes à couper le souffle et sereinement spirituels, les monastères de Metéora jaillissent d'un paysage de rêve de mégalithes rocheux dans les plaines de la vallée de la Thessalie. Les premiers ermites sont venus dans ce coin reculé de la Grèce au moins dès le 11ème siècle pour se retirer du monde et contempler la divinité. Les moines chrétiens orthodoxes ont commencé à construire des monastères ici au 14ème siècle. À l'origine, 24 monastères se trouvaient à cet endroit étonnant, construits sur les bords de falaises vertigineuses ou perchés sur des formations de grès abruptes pouvant atteindre 300 mètres. Avec leurs hauteurs exaltées et leur inaccessibilité presque mystique, les monastères de Metéora semblent s'élever vers le ciel et refléter l'effort humain pour la sainteté. Veuillez être habillé modestement. Il est suggéré aux femmes de porter des jupes longues et des manches longues. Si vous ne l'avez pas, vous recevrez une jupe sur votre chemin.
Sur le chemin du retour à Athènes, arrêtez-vous à Thermopyles, où l’une des batailles les plus épiques de tous les temps a eu lieu. 300 Spartans ont fait face à l'armée perse et les ont arrêtés pendant 2 jours. Voir le champ de bataille et la statue du roi Leonidas.

-Nous prenons en charge de tous les hébergements à Athènes. Pour la zone de ramassage / dépôt à l'aéroport il y a un supplément, s'il vous plaît contactez-nous. -La tenue recommandée pour les femmes est jupe longue ou robe longue. Si vous ne l'avez pas, ils vous donneront là une écharpe à mettre sur votre taille, ( 3€ de frais ) ou si vous en avez une vous pouvez faire de même. Pour les hommes est conseillé de porter un pantalon long. Aussi les monastères n'acceptent pas les cartes donc s'il vous plaît avoir de l'argent avec vous. Il est de 5€ par personne et par monastère.

Great trip! Meteora was fantastic to see and Mr George was an absolute pleasure to spend the day with and provided an enjoyable means of getting there and experiencing it. Pickup instructions were sent early and were clear and Mr George was there early w breakfast snacks and water. Highly recommend!

Today took a day trip to Meteora, the overall experience was great and exceeded expectations. The tour started with a visit to the Battlefield and Museum of the Three Hundred Warriors in Sparta, which gave us a deeper understanding of ancient Greek history and added a cultural and historical background to the subsequent journey. Upon arrival in Medellín, we actually visited 2 of the 6 monasteries and admired the spectacular views of the rest of the monasteries at several sights along the way. Although not entering all the monasteries, panoramic photos of the 6 monasteries taken from the outside are stunning from every angle. The enormous rock columns and architecture perfectly merge, as if in a fairy tale world, the view is both magical and majestic. The most memorable is the peace of mind brought by the whole Medellín. Even with other visitors, there is still a peaceful and sacred atmosphere, allowing people to slow down and quietly enjoy the wonders created by nature and human faith. Lunch arranged in the town under the Medeora mountain, the environment is quiet and comfortable, residents and shoppers are very friendly and warm, is a good place to relax. If you are coming to Greece, I highly recommend arranging a day trip to Medellín. The spectacular scenery, the deep historical culture and the immersive atmosphere make this trip one of the most memorable memories of this trip to Greece.

Magical day at Meteroa. Our guide Theo T was very warm and friendly, very informative and chatty so we learnt a lot about ordinary life of Athenians. Speaks v good English. Theo was good with avoiding big crowds and timed our stops perfectly. Do request for Theo T for anything Athens.

Mr. George was an absolute font of knowledge. It was a long day, but comfortable and totally worth it to see and experience all that we saw and did. The snacks were plenty and the choice for dinner was phenomenal. I highly recommend this tour.

It was approximately a little less than a four hour car ride each way, but the experience was totally worth it. Our driver Georgios was friendly and very informative, and his car was quite comfortable. He was very accommodating as far as stopping whenever we wanted for food or photo shoots at scenic locations. We visited three different monasteries, and while we had a favorite, each one was most enjoyable. The views were terrific and the monasteries were so interesting. It was a once in a lifetime experience for us, and we are very happy we decided to include this trip in our itinerary'
