Fede Rocks!

This experience was beyond expectation. Fede welcomed us into his home for a gorgeous rooftop feast. He taught us how to build an Argentinian bbq fire & make hone-made empanadas. Wine , food & conversation was superb. Every person coming to Mendoza needs this experience.

Super!!!!!

Dinner at Federico's was an amazing experience. Preparing the empanadas and roast with him was a lot of fun. He explained a lot of things and we ate and drank wonderfully. I recommend it 100%. Thanks, Fede.

Fantastic food and great company

This was truly the best asado we had while visiting Argentina. Fede taught us how to make empanadas, taught us how to build the fire for the asado, and proceeded to cook up tasty cuts of meat. We truly made it feel like we were just friends over for a wonderful meal.

A high recommendation

This was a wonderful experience. Fede is the perfect host- the food and wine were incredible and it really felt like you were eating with friends, not on a tour

10/10 asado experience

The asado at Fedes home was a highlight of our trip to Argentina. He was a welcoming host that made you feel at home. The food cooked was delicious and allows you to get an inside look at the Argentina culture. I highly recommend this on your trip and will beat any hotel or restaurant adado cooking experience. It was very useful to get an uber to and from the experience as well

Enjoyable experience, but expensive for what you get.

The host is very nice, but it was quite expensive for the evening.. The bread he served was awful, just grocery store bread. The meat was good, but the empanada that I made and my friends were scorched on the bottom. The house needs a lot of work, like paint on the upstairs terrace. Compared to high end restaurants in Mendoza this is not a deal at all. Still it was an enjoyable evening.

Thank you for your feedback and for joining the experience, Monika. I truly appreciate your kind words about the evening and the time we shared together. As you also mentioned during the night — and as your friend kindly expressed on multiple occasions — it was a very enjoyable experience, which I’m glad to hear again here. That said, I’d like to clarify a few aspects for future guests. This experience is not intended to replicate a high-end restaurant, but rather to offer something fundamentally different: an authentic, interactive evening inside a local home, where guests actively participate in the preparation of traditional Argentine food. Regarding the empanadas, part of the experience is precisely learning and cooking them together — which naturally means that results can vary slightly, especially when made for the first time. It’s all part of the hands-on, informal, and real nature of the evening. I must also say I found the comment about the bread somewhat surprising, as it is sourced fresh from a local bakery — not grocery store bread — which is consistent with the quality standards I maintain for the experience. As for pricing, it reflects not only the food itself, but also the full experience: a small-group setting, personalized hosting, premium ingredients, unlimited wine, and several hours of dedicated time. It’s also worth noting that booking platforms apply significant commissions, which are included in the final price guests see. I always value constructive feedback and will take your comments into account. At the same time, this experience is designed for travelers looking for authenticity, connection, and participation — rather than a restaurant comparison — and it continues to resonate very positively with those expectations. Wishing you all the best in your travels.

One Time Only Experience

An interesting evening visiting with a LOCAL family to see their home, make empanatas, and how to cook asado. This is NOT a fancy venue and not a fancy meal. Cooking begins soon after arrival, but takes 2 hours to prepare--so eating is a bit late. The empanatas and meat were good. Could have used more vegetables. The wine was standard table wine, nothing special. A "one time" experience. We had a second in-home asado booked, but cancelled it and chose an Asado restaurant instead.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’d like to clarify a few points so future guests can better understand the experience. This is intentionally designed as an authentic evening in a local home, centered around Argentine traditions, rather than a restaurant-style or “fine dining” setting — something that is clearly described in the listing. On this particular evening, I also accommodated a special request to start one hour earlier than usual and to provide additional white wine beyond the standard offering, which I was happy to arrange. Despite this adjusted timing, the group arrived later than the agreed start time, which naturally impacts the rhythm of a traditional asado — a process that cannot be rushed without compromising its essence. As for the timing, slow cooking is a fundamental part of Argentine asado culture. It’s not a delay, but rather part of the experience itself, during which guests participate, enjoy appetizers, and engage socially — something that, as mentioned during the evening and reflected in the atmosphere we shared, seemed to be well received at the time. Regarding the menu, the experience focuses on traditional Argentine flavors, where meat is the centerpiece. That said, I always appreciate constructive feedback and will take your comment about vegetables into consideration. I’m glad you found the food enjoyable and that you had the opportunity to experience a local home and culture. This experience is designed for travelers seeking authenticity over formality, and it continues to resonate very positively with guests who value that perspective. Wishing you great travels ahead.

A true Argentinian asadao where you feel like family rather than a tourist

What an incredible experience with Fede. He is a phenomenal Asador, host, historian, and cultural navigator. This is an intimate gastronomic exploration of the Argentinian culture with someone born and raised in Mendoza. The experience includes learning to set up your own Parilla (which is different than other fire starting techniques), making your own empanadas, and enjoying a range of traditional and delicious foods. Great wine, great company, easy to navigate to (Fede gave super easy to follow directions), and an unforgettable experience. One of our most enjoyed activities during our two weeks throughout Argentina. Can’t miss this one!

Different experience, felt like visiting a local friend

If you’re in Mendoza, don’t miss this asado experience with Fede! His rooftop terrace is cozy and welcoming, with beautiful views that make you feel right at home. Fede cooked a traditional wood-fired asado that was absolutely delicious, and there was plenty of wine and beer flowing all night. We loved enjoying the company of fellow travelers, sharing stories, making empanadas, and learning about Argentina’s traditions. It was more than just dinner,  it was a warm, authentic, and unforgettable evening.
