A great overview of the history and current character of Melaka, a true cultural meeting place for the last 600 or so years. The tour illuminates the story for visitors by showing the places and people where traces of the past remain visible. KC Low was an informative and enthusiastic guide with a cheerful and engaging disposition. Highly recommend the tour.

Our guide John Koh today was phenomenal. He explained every place visited very well. We got to know Malacca better and discovered corners of the city that as tourists we would have struggled to visit or know because they are known only to the local people.

It’s especially wonderful to know that you enjoyed exploring places that are less familiar to visitors and gave you a more local perspective of the city. Mimi is a great tour guide who brings the details of Melaka to her guests with a lot of knowledge and humor. You get a lot of information and tips, for example for dinner or visiting museums. The only point of criticism is that the fee you pay covers only the platform fees. The tour guide expects additional compensation.
Thank you for your kind words about Mimi and for highlighting her knowledge, humour, and helpful recommendations. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed discovering Melaka with her and found her tips useful for exploring the city further. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the booking fee. We understand that the tip-based model may not be immediately clear to all guests. The booking fee is used to secure your place and cover the platform and booking-related costs, while our guides provide the walking tour on a tip-based basis. Tips are entirely at the guest’s discretion and are intended to recognise the guide’s time, knowledge, and service. We will continue to make this arrangement clearer during the booking process so that guests know what to expect before joining the tour. Thank you again for joining us and for sharing your feedback.
