As a classics grad I have been disappointed multiple times by dumbed down commentary and lacking knowledge by guides. Our guide on this tour, Christina, was a polar opposite. She was knowledgeable about topics and sites and overall a delight. Excellent choice of sites with easy bus journeys between. Comfortable hotels but some questionable lunch options. Overall an excellent way to see essential classical sites. As we booked superior hotels we were always accommodated far out of the towns. Standard hotels were comfortable and in the towns so if I was to do again to would book cheaper option just to be able to enjoy local flavour

We took a fabulous custom 8 day private tour of the Peloponnese with Warm Penguin in September 2021. Through emails and whatsapp calls and video chats, David took our travel interests and worked expeditiously with us to develop an itinerary we liked, gave us a choice of hotels for each location and provided local expertise when we had questions. He was transparent with pricing all along the way, and having inquired with two other agencies before settling on Warm Penguin, we know it to be extremely competitive. David also made the transport arrangements with his preferred partner, Athens Tours & Transfer, and we were so lucky to get Yannis as our driver. Not only was he highly skilled and diligent about the condition of the car, he treated us to opening and closing the doors and kindly helped with our luggage which was no small favor. He always found great lunch restaurants in lovely settings for us and was still ready at the end of the day to drive us somewhere if needed. The thing we enjoyed the most was that he had a prodigious knowledge of Greek history and mythology and shared it with us in enthusiastic story-telling fashion and we had many wonderful discussions! If you want to dive into Greece, do it with Warm Penguin.

We visited Greece on the 7-Day Private Grand Tour of Classic Greece and added on the 3 Day Pelion Tour through Warm Penguin Tours. I would highly recommend both the tour company and both these tours. David arranged everything for us including all the hotels and the guides at all the sites. Our driver, Yannis, was extremely knowledgeable and also customized the tour to our likes. For example, after he discovered that we like to hike, he added additional hiking opportunities. The hotels that David chose for us were comfortable and clean and the food was wonderful throughout. The guides at the sites were very knowledgeable. We especially enjoyed the guide at Ancient Olympus, Sausitia. Her passion for ancient Greek culture was contagious. We also especially enjoyed the hike on the Delphi trail. This is the same trail that the ancient Greeks took to arrive at Delphi to visit the Delphi oracle. Not only was the guide, Eliana, knowledgeable, but she took us safely past the shepherd's dogs (the dogs can be protective) and also fed us a wonderful lunch including her mother-in-law's cheese pie. It was delicious! The whole trip was magical and I felt like the whole Warm Penguin team (David, Yannis, Val and everyone else involved) went the extra mile to ensure that we had a wonderful time. I only previously visited Greece or rather Athens some years ago and then with very limited time available as this was a working trip. Was not particularly impressed then so this time round was hoping for a better experience even as had more time and was accompanied by my best friends... wife and kids! I came across David McLaughlin of Warmpengiun online and asked what he could offer. He was very patient trying to accomodate a son who is not particularly happy visiting archaeological ruins but would rather relax by the sea, reading a book and go to nice restaurants... wife and daughter who are both into arts! The final plan worked out wonderfully and came with the bonus of a wonderful and very informative driver (Yiannis), excellent guides at Epidarus, Mycenae, Ancient Olympia and Delphi Archeological site. We enjoyed very much the hikes in the Plestos River valley and the following day in the Alpine Zone of Delphi... Helen our guide for the hikes was marvellous with the unexpected surprise of a picnic with local products and recipes (I hope she remembers our recipe with beetroot and feta cheese)! The half day catamaran trip with skipper Costas and his stories was fascinating. An extremely enjoyable visit to Greece... a wonderful country, with wonderful people who are full of hope for the future.
