Le jardin botanique de Pamplemousses est une attraction touristique populaire à Pamplemousses, près de Port Louis, à Maurice, et le plus ancien jardin botanique de l'hémisphère sud. Célèbre pour son long bassin de nénuphars géants (Victoria amazonica), le jardin a été construit par Pierre Poivre (1719 - 1786) en 1770 et couvre une superficie d'environ 37 hectares. En plus de ses nénuphars géants, le jardin comprend également des épices, des ébènes, des cannes à sucre et 85 variétés de palmiers d'Amérique centrale, d'Asie, d'Afrique et des îles entourant l'océan Indien. Les dirigeants mondiaux et les membres de la royauté ont planté de nombreux arbres, notamment la princesse Margaret, la comtesse de Snowdon, Indira Gandhi, François Mitterrand et Robert Mugabe.
Caudan, comme on l'appelle maintenant, a été le premier grand développement commercial de ce type sur l'île Maurice. Il reste à ce jour une destination de shopping emblématique pour les habitants et les touristes. Dans le centre commercial, les visiteurs trouveront les dernières boutiques de mode et tendances, un marché d'art et d'artisanat populaire, connu sous le nom de marché artisanal, des magasins spécialisés vendant des produits locaux uniques tels que répliques de navires, vêtements indiens, bijoux fabriqués localement ou peintures d'art d'artistes locaux . Le centre commercial abrite également des cinémas, une marina, une librairie, des restaurants et des cafés, un musée, hébergeant deux des timbres les plus rares au monde, un casino et des options de shopping détaxées pour les touristes. Premier centre commercial de l'île, Caudan a su suivre les tendances et conserve son allure de centre commercial moderne au bord de l'eau.
La citadelle de Port-Louis est une citadelle construite au 16ème siècle par les Espagnols, puis modifiée au 17ème siècle par les Français de Port-Louis (France).
Grand-Baie (ou parfois Grand Baie) est un village côtier mauricien situé dans le district de Rivière du Rempart, la partie ouest se trouvant également dans le district de Pamplemousses.

We booked this excursion via GetYourGuide for an amount of €86, to which we added €64.86 for the SUV driver option. At the time of booking, the description clearly indicated that a guide was included in the service. However, upon our arrival, no guide was present. It was explained to us that the driver was also supposed to act as a guide. In reality, we only received a driver service: no real guide service, no guided tour, and no accompaniment corresponding to what was advertised in the description. We therefore paid a total of €150.86 for a service that does not correspond to the one we booked and paid for. I do not recommend it
Everything went perfectly from the pickup to the tour itself. Our driver Avi was very nice and accommodating. When my husband injured his leg, he took very good care of him! We were able to coordinate the tour individually with Avi and see what we wanted. It was a fantastic trip and we had a lot of fun with Avi. We can only recommend it!
It was an amazing, excellent tour, our guide: AVI was amazing (friendly, great sense of humour, knowledgeable and helpful) created a wonderful atmosphere ; we recommend him.
I chose this tour because of the private, customizable nature, and the ability to see so much of Mauritius. I was not disappointed and I had one of the best days! My driver, Avi, was completely open to my requests and made it an incredibly fun day. For me, the views of the topography, the incredible beach drive and breaks were ideal. I enjoyed the botanical gardens, I especially recommend the pink 🪷 lotus. THANK YOU, Avi for all the information about Mauritius!! Highly recommend for solo travelers.
It was our last day at once every minute was counted. The driver arrived 45 minutes late in the morning for the last mission of the day. We arranged to meet at a Parking lot at 3:15 pm. It arrived at 4pm another 45 minutes wasted in the day it is an hour and a half lost as there are two of us with my wife, we lost three hours on our last day. It is inadmissible if you can obtain monetary compensation from me. Do not hesitate otherwise you are not about to see me again. Have a nice end to the day.
Baboo was exceptional from start to finish: very professional guide, attentive, punctual and with clear and interesting explanations throughout the day. Thanks to him, the visit to the north of Mauritius is fluid, well organized and pleasant. The program is complete and balanced: botanical garden of Pamplemousses, citadel of Port-Louis, Cap Malheureux . Private transport is comfortable and allows you to fully enjoy every stop. An excellent activity, perfectly supervised by Baboo, ideal to discover the north of the island in complete serenity.
