Les Sassi de Matera, déclarés patrimoine mondial par l'UNESCO en 1993, sont un lieu unique au charme extraordinaire qui témoigne de la façon dont l'homme a vécu pendant des millénaires dans un environnement de conte de fées. Les Sassi de Matera sont reliés au centre-ville moderne par de nombreuses ruelles qui créent un échange continu entre ces deux environnements urbains. Notre voyage commence par une visite à pied des célèbres « Sassi » (habitations troglodytes historiques). La visite se poursuit à travers les ruelles et les rues des Sassi, décor naturel de plusieurs films tels que « La Passion du Christ » de Mel Gibson et « L'Évangile selon Matthieu » de Pier Paolo Pasolini. Au cours de la visite, vous entrerez dans une véritable maison troglodyte, découvrirez une ancienne église rupestre et profiterez d'une vue imprenable sur le plateau de Murgia.

Booked a half-day private tour after being impressed with previous day’s guide and driver tour. First class experience with Cesare’s expert driving and Andreas’s wealth of knowledge. Matera was both hauntingly beautiful and hauntingly sad as we learned about the extreme poverty of the cave dwellers and their eviction to a different life. There is only one road so it truly is a walking tour and a fascinating one made so much richer by all we learned from Andreas. Highly recommend this tour and the City!

visiting Matera is a life changing experience, incredible to think about how people lived back then.. we took a panoramic tour to see the Murgia
My tour was at 15, they changed it at 16 and said that it was always like this despite being published in another schedule, then when I asked, they indicated that the tour that I hired in Spanish would not be in Spanish as published and finally cancelled without notice. I do not recommend it at all. Maybe the tour is good, I'll never know, but administratively it's a mess.
