Description
Cette randonnée alpine pittoresque explore une haute crête vallonnée avec quelques courtes ascensions raides qui offre une vue panoramique sur la forêt de lauriers. Nous suivons ensuite un chemin au plus profond de la forêt tropicale subtropicale où abondent les lichens suspendus et les mousses. C'est sans aucun doute l'un des écosystèmes les plus importants de l'île. Puis, comme par magie, la campagne apparaît et nous offre la vue panoramique la plus spectaculaire que l'île de Tenerife puisse offrir. Nous regardons ensuite les gorges de Masca et le paysage volcanique environnant. Par temps clair, la finale est une vue fabuleuse sur le mont Teide qui se profile au loin à travers la vallée de Santiago et les champs de lave au-dessus. Notre randonnée se poursuit ensuite sur des sentiers faciles à travers la pinède et descend majestueusement dans une vallée qui rappelle la campagne anglaise. Il s'agit d'une randonnée modérée de 12 km avec 375 m de montée/descente sur un terrain vallonné. Altitude maximale 1100m en prenant env. 5 heures. REMARQUE - CE N'EST PAS LA RANDONNÉE DES GORGES DE MASCA !

An absolutely fantastic day, and a hike was just what we needed to shake off the cobwebs of the holiday! Andy was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife (we've learned a lot more about wildflowers in a few hours!), and took us through the key sights above the Masca Gorge. I wanted to join more Andy’s hikes but it was fully booked - and I understand why. It was such a lovely experience! I loved about the Masca hike that we saw so much - about 5 different ecosystems - within just a one,not even too demanding hike. The nature and the views were beautiful and it was pleasant to have a company. Book early not to miss it!

I did three hikes with Andy in fantastic weather in Tenerife. Each of the walks were very different and they took advantage of the big variety of landscapes Tenerife has to offer. On one of the days, he adapted the walk to allow for one with more tree cover given the high temperatures on the day. The Wow Factor walk was a particular highlight for me. Make sure to book early - Andy’s walks are very popular and he has repeat customers who come year after year.

This is a fantastic walk. From the prompt pick up time until I was dropped back to my hotel, this was a day packed brimful of enjoyment. Our guide Andy has a forensic knowledge of this area, and is very happy to share information on wildlife, geology and history as one walks along this breathtakingly beautiful route. He selects wonderful vantage points to best see the varied views; our lunch spot in particular afforded the most spectacular vista I have ever enjoyed while munching on a hard earned sandwich. Andy brings good humour to every hike, and the result is that everyone in the group is happy to talk and mingle- this heightens enjoyment. I totally recommend this hike. It has it all- enchanting forests, historical artefacts, expert guiding, and- did I mention those views??
