Cette excursion panoramique d'une journée au départ de Kutaisi met en valeur la beauté naturelle et l'histoire saisissante de la Géorgie occidentale. Commencez par Martvili Canyon, célèbre pour ses eaux turquoises, ses cascades et sa verdure luxuriante. Marchez le long de sentiers en bois ou profitez d'une courte promenade en bateau à travers les passages étroits et les formations rocheuses spectaculaires du canyon. Continuez jusqu'à Okatse Canyon, où une passerelle panoramique suspendue vous mène au-dessus de gorges profondes et de forêts, offrant une vue imprenable et un sentiment d'aventure. Ensuite, descendez dans le monde souterrain de Prometheus Cave. Découvrez de vastes salles remplies de stalactites et de stalagmites, magnifiquement éclairées pour révéler des millions d'années d'histoire géologique. La visite se termine aux Sanatoriums abandonnés de Tskaltubo, stations balnéaires atmosphériques de l'époque soviétique figées dans le temps. Ces bâtiments monumentaux racontent des histoires fortes du passé de l'URSS et offrent une finale unique et photogénique au voyage. Un mélange parfait entre nature, aventure et histoire. ️

Itinéraire
Les ponts suspendus au-dessus d'un canyon sont les points forts d'un site. Nous devons marcher environ 2,5 km pour l'atteindre. Le pont lui-même est à 900 mètres. La distance totale à parcourir est d'environ 6 km. Si vous n'êtes pas à l'aise avec la marche, moyennant un supplément (15 euros), il est possible d'avoir un véhicule tout-terrain qui vous mènera au pont, vous y attendra et vous ramènera.
Au canyon Martvili, nous pouvons avoir une belle vue sur les cascades tout en nous promenant le long d’une gorge. La navigation de plaisance de l'eau est offerte en option.
La grotte Prométhée est l’une des plus grandes grottes de Géorgie.
Explorez les sanatoriums abandonnés de Tskaltubo et observez les ruines de l'héritage soviétique.

Giorgi our great guide, picked us up at hotel and drove to fabulous Martvili Canyon, walk & Short picturesque boat ride, Okatse Waterfall, Prometheus Caves where we had lunch walk through fantastic caves then Abandoned Sanatorium interesting architecture. Had a great day, okatse hanging Bridge was closed but it didn't spoil our trip.
The sights were truly a marvel and David, our guide, was so knowledgeable and lovely. We really appreciated his time and efforts to explain Georgia and its people. We especially appreciated the very safe drive — which now that we’ve been in other cars — has really been highlighted and sets this apart. Thank you!!!
It was not their fault, but because of heavy rains the night before, all of the attractions were closed. They could have called ahead and spared me two hours of driving. The guide was boring and had almost nothing to say.
There were major rains in the area at previous night. We didn't know about the situation at sites as they start to open at 10:00. Tour starts at 09:00. I would ask to remove a review as controlling weather is not in our possibility. So, it was not possible to have the information before the start of the trip. Sites are working at the time of the rain. So, it was exceptional case on that date, unfortunately.
We got to Okatse Canyon at the end of a long day which included Martvili Canyon, the Hanging Walkway and other waterfalls in the area. Entrance price was the same as other places - 17.25 Lari, but IMO they should offer combo-tickets to this place because it's close to the others. The place was recently upgraded and walkways were added - but that was our main disappointment! Despite investing a lot in the walkways, they keep you far from the natural attraction you came to see, for no reason. With a little more thought the place could have been designed different to let people feel closer to nature instead of "herded along" on a metal walkway. The walkway is quite short and therefore overpriced
Everything worked perfectly and uncomplicated. Our guide Georgi picked us up on time at the hotel and accompanied us professionally throughout the day. During the trip to the destinations, he gave us great insights into Georgian history and culture. The tour was very well planned down to the last detail and really every excursion destination is highly recommended! Georgi showed us far more than we originally expected. Giorgi took is time to drive us from 9 a.m. till 8 p.m. from Okatse Canyon and Waterfall to Martvili Canyon and Prometheus Cave including a bathing break close to the waterfall and a lunch break during which he invited us to some ice cream. Additional to this "regular" programme, he even showed us a cool lost place sanatorium in Tskaltubo (where he took great pictures of us) and lead us to Sataplia national park which we had wished to see. Even after that he was always there for us via WhatsApp whenever we had a question for a potential trip near Kutaissi and also Batumi. His English is really good so that he's able to entertain with a lot of interesting facts and he's also open to explain Georgian culture and politics.
An active day with plenty of activities presented by a knowledgable and flexible guide. Understandably some of these attractions get busy in the summer months therefore going early in the day is advisable. Giorgi kindly adjusted our itinerary due to queues at Martvili and showed us the Soviet Sanatoriums in Tskaltubo and drove us to Gelati Monastery instead. Nice comfortable transport with air conditioning. Maybe worth advertising the admission fees for the attractions as they add a substantial amount (at tourist prices) to this excursion.
Giorgi was an excellent and informative guide who answered many questions about Georgia. He filled in time before the last Prometheus Caves tour by taking us to an extra monastery and Stalin's personal spa plunge bath! There were just one other couple and us on the tour so it felt tailored to our needs. The canyons, waterfalls were stunning, as was the extensive Prometheus cave - doing the last (7pm) tour of the latter meant a smaller crowd. Just bear on mind when budgeting this trip that you also need to pay entrance fees for both canyons, and the waterfall, and the cave - they are not cheap for non-Georgian visitors.
We booked 2 tours with Giorgi and were extremely happy with both (1-the Martvili Canyon and Hanged Bridges of Okatse tour and 2-the Travel Kutaisi Ancient City and Prometheus Cave Tour). Giorgi adapted the tour to our interests and the weather. He was also very knowledgable about the sites, conversational during the car rides, and a careful driver. Thanks to Giorgi, we even got to see a few additional sites that weren't on the itinerary or frequented by tourists. We also appreciated his willingness and enthusiasm to hike at the different sites and allow us to take pictures (rather than just hopping in and out of the car).
We were lucky to book the tour with Giorgi! We learned a lot about the history of Georgia and visited a lot of impressive places. We totally can recommend this tour!!
