Observation de la faune marine dans un village de pêcheurs

Description

If you are a traveller who seeks cultural immersion, off-the-beaten-track experiences, and close-up marine wildlife encounters, then this trip to the artisanal fishing village of Pucusana with Yanapumas Peru is absolutely on point for you. We particularly love the authenticity of the experience at this fascinating & paradoxical Peruvian fishing village. Additionally we were pleasantly surprised by the abundance of marine wildlife at this raw Peruvian gem. We were most fortunate to have the highly experienced and cerebral Enrique as our guide. Last but not least the visit to the Nueva Esperanza cemetery on our way back to Lima was a much appreciated bonus - truly an experience we will always treasure.
Not only was this my first time out of my home country, but I went solo. I am so glad that I found this company as it made my experience so much more than it could have been. This tour is worth triple what you pay. You get to see a more real side of Peru, and the beauty and strength of the people. My tour guide, Kiki, was absolutely amazing. Not only does he have the absolute best personality, but he is extremely knowledgeable on history and culture. I learned so much in such a fun trip. The fishing village and the people in it are wonderful. The man who piloted the boat was so friendly and sincere with his information. Kiki translated everything so that I understood and could conversate as well. He had no problem going over tour time so we could stop into the absolute best little restaurant. It was the best food I had had the entire time I was in Lima. He also had great suggestions on other places to eat and sites to see. He wasn't just a guide, he was a new friend. I would recommend this tour, and this tour agency to everyone. In the future, they are the only ones I will book with. It was really that wonderful.
Our tour guide, Nilton, spoke excellent English and provided a top-notch experience. He was flexible with meeting place and time to accommodate our Cruise ship schedule. He took a personal interest in showing us interesting sites and delicious food. It was a relaxing, enjoyable day outside. Highly recommend!
From initial contact through Viatour everything was excellent. We were picked up in our hotel in Miraflores at 8am and drove up the hill to see the view of the coast from the large Christ statue. On the way was the shanty town like the Brazilian Favellas. After 1.5 hours along the coast we stopped at a small clay oven bakery for fresh bread. 20 mins later we were in Pucusana, a colourful fishing village. We went in a small fishing boat to an island and watched 2 dolphins on the way. There were sea lions, pelicans, vultures, Boobies both Peruvian and blue footed, neo tropic cormorant, red legged cormorant, inca tern, sunflower star fish. The highlight though was the Humboldt penguin, they came to the egde of the cliff to check us out! At the end, our boat man fed the birds and we got prize winning shots of Pelicans with mouths wide open. Our guide Jorge was fantastic, excellent English and very knowledgeable about everything we saw. Our drive back was faster and we were back in our hotel by 2:30. This was much better than going on the 4 hour trip to Paracas. Booked through this site and Pax on board was the company.

Great experience touring the Pucusana fishing village and fishing boat. Antonio our tour guide was terrific - very well spoken and trained as a marine biologist. Picked us up from our hotel in a nice roomy SUV, stopped at a place along the way that makes freshly baked bread in brick ovens the bread was to die for. He had a wealth of information about the biodiversity of the coast and surrounding area, and I was impressed by his expertise. Pucusana is a village from another era - it was amazing to see all of the fishermen waiting to go out in the boats and all of the colorful fishing boats. We took a tour around the inlet with a local fisherman in his boat and the wildlife views were amazing - penguins, terns, sea lions. The water was absolutely crystal clear, no pollution at all. My only regret is not trying the ceviche in one of the local bars near the port - probably would have been the best seafood experience ever. Overall, a very enjoyable time for my family and I.

The tour is nothing compared to the ones in Ecuador, for instance Isla de la Plata. The cost is higher and the trip is no comparison. I would not recommend this for their prices..
From the first communication, Nilton was prompt and accommodating. Because most of my group was in Lima for work we weren’t sure of their availability. Luckily timing worked out and Nilton was available for us the last afternoon of our visit. He picked us up, on time, at our hotel in Miraflores. Nilton is very personable and during our time together made pleasant conversation explaining the culture today of the local people which we all appreciated. I knew what to expect based on other reviews and I was not disappointed! From other reviews I was a bit concerned about the stability of the small fishing boat because one in our group is a super-sized man. No Problem as the boat was very heavy and wide bottomed. Our captain was skilled and his boat was immaculate and very comfortable. Equally fascinating was the tour of the ocean wildlife complete with penguins and many other birds and then boating through the bay where row after colorful row of fishing boats are moored. Could not have had a better experience. All in our group of 4; ages 22 to 67 raved about the day. Thank you Pax on Board.
Hello dear, Thanks for your review, I appreciate your nice words which is rewarding to read. If you or your friends come back to Perú let me know.

A highly informative, colorful and exciting boat excursion to see all the animals on Galapago Island. And best of all was our terrific guide and driver Antonio. He was very professional, prompt and knowledgeable! We also made a stop at a local bread market which was very popular!

This was an awesome trip directed by an experienced guide and excellent driver. We loved the fishing village that was our destination and the boat ride seeing all the wildlife made this trip a cost effective journey.

Timely pick up by a very infomitive guide. We had a very nice van to the fishing village which included a stop for some wonderful fresh bread right out of baking ovens along the way.
The fish market and the boat ride around an island with many birds and sea life sightings made the day.
