Visitez la réserve naturelle de Nelly Bay pour une conférence sur notre faune locale et pour voir une exposition d'interprétation créée par des artistes locaux célèbres.
Picnic Bay, un havre côtier chargé d'histoire et de beauté naturelle. Montez sur les rives de Picnic Bay en compagnie de notre guide expérimenté. Votre expérience englobe à la fois les vues à couper le souffle et la richesse du passé de Picnic Bay. Promenez-vous le long de la jetée de Picnic Bay, classée au patrimoine, où les vestiges des temps passés de l'île se mélangent parfaitement aux vues panoramiques sur la mer de Corail avec la possibilité d'observer des tortues ou des dugongs dans les eaux. Notre visite dévoile les différentes couches du patrimoine de Picnic Bay et le point culminant est notre visite au musée local. Sous la direction de notre guide expert, explorez les expositions organisées par le musée présentant des artefacts, des histoires et des photographies qui décrivent de manière vivante l'histoire fascinante de la région. Plongez dans les récits des premiers colons, les aventures maritimes et la tapisserie culturelle qui a façonné ce joyau côtier
Visitez la marina et faites une petite promenade le long du brise-lames Presto, pour visiter l'épave du Presto sabordée sur l'île magnétique en 1896. Il y a toujours une chance d'apercevoir certains de nos emblématiques Allied Rock Wallabies alors qu'ils sautent le long du brise-lames.
Nos wallabies alliés uniques se trouvent souvent dans et autour des rochers au bord de la baie de Geoffrey. Voyez si vous pouvez en repérer.
Bien que la visite ne couvre pas l'intégralité de la promenade des Forts, elle offre une expérience approfondie de l'histoire de notre île pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale grâce à une exposition informative au début de la promenade. Montez jusqu'au point de vue initial (environ 100 m) pour admirer les superbes vues panoramiques sur la baie d'Arthur.
Pendant que vous marchez aux côtés du groupe, notre guide peint des images saisissantes du passé et du présent de l'île, soulignant les caractéristiques uniques du paysage et partageant des histoires captivantes sur l'importance de la région. La beauté de la baie d'Alma se dévoile sous vos yeux tandis que notre guide vous donne un aperçu de l'histoire, de la faune et de la tranquillité fascinante de la baie qui en fait un joyau caché sur l'île magnétique.
Arrêtez-vous pour une pause à la Mecque des sports nautiques de l'île, Horseshoe Bay. De nombreux cafés sont disponibles et une plage surveillée par des sauveteurs. Les marchés fonctionnent tous les dimanches pendant les mois les plus froids.

Our driver, Tim, was the best. He was very knowledgeable about the Island and could answer any question we had. We stopped many times to learn about the history and take pictures. We fed the rock wallabies and saw wallabies running in the neighborhoods. Tim surprised us by taking us to his private property where he gathered eucalyptus branches that we took back to the animal hospital and fed two of the koalas who are there. We stopped in a small town where we had an hour of free time to eat, shop, or walk the beach. Overall it was a fantastic experience.
Tim was awesome. Accommodating and made the rainy wet season day super enjoyable nonetheless. We had a 4 month old and two sassy teenagers and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Great facts and knowledge with a combination of lived experience made for a fun filled tour. Recommend to anyone looking to do Maggie and see all the beaches and hot spots. We even got to meet some Koala and felt very privileged for the up close and personal experience
This was a lovely way to see Magnetic Island and learn lots for when we comeback and do it ourselves next time . Tim was a fabulous host . Thankyou for going out of your way way to pick us up when we were running late … oops . Make sure you catch the ferry over from Townsville to arrive in time lol
Unbelievable experience to be able to enjoy nature and learn about this beautiful island from an knowledgeable and enthusiastic local.
Such a fantastic tour! My friend and I went with Tim around the island. He was super friendly and knew so much about the island and the native wildlife and vegetation. We saw a lot of different places around the island and a lot of native wildlife. We saw sharks, fed Wallaby’s, saw a lot of birds, small reef fish, and of course koalas! Such an amazing tour and tour guide!☺️ Thank you Tim!

Magnetic Island is a beautiful island and Tim is a fantastic guide! He knows (almost) everything about the island and is excited to convey that to others. Too bad we could only stay on this island for one day.

Easy to take the ferry from Townsville to meet the tour. Great to visit the highlights with an Island native, Izzy’s Dad! The best was going to their koala hospital and feed the rescue koalas!

The tour with Tim is definitely off the beaten track. From the pick up at the ferry terminal to delivery back in time for the 3pm ferry we loved every minute. Tim is clearly passionate about his home island and the wildlife that lives there and it seems most people know him as well. From finding and feeding Rock Wallabies, to getting the history of old ferry terminals, rock formations to the highlight of seeing his Koala Hospital, this trip was informative to the extreme. You can also tell he is immensely proud of his daughter Izzy and his wife for the work they put in at the Koala Hospital. At Horseshoe bay we had just the right amount of time for lunch and as we drove past the strip of restaurants we got the run down and critique summary for them all to help our choices. All in all a highly recommended trip to see exactly what it says "behind the scenes". No tour coaches here, just a friendly 16 seater!
