SORTEZ COMPLÈTEMENT DES SENTIERS BATTUS ET LOIN DE LA FOULE ! Visite exclusive organisée par les propriétaires du domaine Agua de Carabaña - en anglais de niveau natif. Une occasion unique de visiter l'origine de « l'Eau médicinale miraculeuse de Carabaña », exportée par millions de bouteilles dans le monde entier il y a un siècle. Les points forts incluent : les grottes préhistoriques appelées « Cappadoce » de Madrid et la buanderie commune restaurée utilisée par les villageois. Au domaine, nous visitons la centrale hydroélectrique restaurée et le musée privé pour en savoir plus sur les « eaux miracles » et l'entrepreneur visionnaire qui les a vendues. Nous marchons à travers les vignes et les anciennes oliveraies jusqu'à la vallée cachée de la station abandonnée. Nous découvrons la source d'eau ainsi que des grottes et des tunnels rendus tristement célèbres pendant la guerre civile espagnole. Nous revenons ensuite nous détendre devant la rivière et les chutes avec un déjeuner complet de paella et du vin local. Enfin, nous vous offrons notre savon artisanal à base de minéraux et d'herbes locales avant de retourner à Madrid.

Itinéraire
Nous empruntons l'autoroute A-3 depuis Madrid et descendons dans la magnifique vallée de Las Vegas, à seulement 35 minutes du centre-ville de Madrid. La vallée est surnommée « la Toscane de Madrid », bordée de collines pleines d'oliviers centenaires et de vignobles. Cette zone était connue comme le grenier de Madrid, car elle lui fournissait autrefois tous ses fruits et légumes. Nous nous arrêterons pour une courte promenade à côté des grottes préhistoriques appelées "Risco de las Cuevas", également appelées "Cappadoce de Madrid". Nous visitons ensuite la buanderie commune restaurée où les villageois faisaient leur lessive à la main - une relique fascinante avant l'industrialisation espagnole.
Nous nous dirigeons vers le domaine privé de renommée mondiale « Eau de Carabaña ». À l'intérieur, nous visitons la centrale hydroélectrique restaurée et le musée privé qui nous raconte l'histoire des « eaux miracles » exportées dans le monde entier dans des millions de bouteilles par l'entrepreneur Jacinto Chavarri. Nous continuons notre promenade jusqu'à la station abandonnée dans notre vallée cachée, en passant par les vignobles du domaine. Lors du parcours de veille (randonnée légère d'environ une heure), nous visitons les puits de "l'eau miracle" et les installations aujourd'hui abandonnées de l'ancienne station thermale. Nous découvrons les fameuses grottes et tunnels de la région ainsi que le bâtiment qui fut le quartier général des forces républicaines pendant la guerre civile espagnole. Nous discutons ensuite avec un agriculteur local et découvrons la cueillette et la transformation des olives ainsi que la vie rurale espagnole. Ensuite, il est temps de se détendre. Nous prenons un déjeuner complet de paella et de tapas au bord de la rivière et des chutes, avec un vin local exquis. Enfin, nous vous offrons notre savon artisanal spécial avant de retourner à Madrid.

We absolutely loved this tour. We chose this tour for the olive oil tasting and for the paella lunch. Roy. the property owner, provided the best experience showing us his family’s property and telling us the history of the area. We highly recommend this tour if you’re in the Madrid area.

We had an absolutely wonderful time with our guide,Roy. The tour was filled with awesome moments: the winery tour, the walk around the town, lunch, and the drive through the property with beautiful views and wildlife. Visiting a big city like Madrid can feel overwhelming and an excursion to see a quaint and quiet part of the countryside creates a relaxing break. We highly recommend this tour and thanks again to Roy for all he did to make it so special.

This far exceeded our expectations. We certainly didn’t expect a personal tour for my wife and I, but that’s exactly what we got. It was the perfect level of activity for both of us and plenty of time to relax and enjoy the countryside. The bikes were a great touch. Roy was an incredible host. He catered to our interests as much as possible (olive oil production co-op, caves, etc) and Carlos was a joy to be around as well. The meal was fantastic, although enough to feed an army. The salad (many of the ingredients from their garden), figs, melon, seafood Paella, and wine was nothing but exquisite. The tour of their property, future plans and some of the unexpected road blocks they were running into was very enlightening. I would highly recommend this tour!!

We had a fabulous 2 week stay at Finca Maridadi, just outside of the town of Ronda. The villa is magnificent, with more than enough room for the 6 of us. The weather was still warm and we spent all of our time outdoors at the pool and eating outside under the covered patio. We didn't use any of the lovely sitting rooms inside, except for the very well equipped kitchen. Lawrence Williamson was fabulous; making bookings at local restaurants for us, giving us ideas on interesting day trips and generally making sure we had everything we needed.. The pictures on the website tell it how it is. We travel in various parts of the world usually renting villas and this is one of the best we have ever had.
What a lovely, relaxing day in the country! Our host showed us the property that he is renovating and planning to turn into a day spa. The interesting tour included the history of the property, a walk on a hillside covered with wild thyme, a tour through their vineyard and olive orchard. It culminated with a chat with the local olive oil and wine producers, an olive oil tasting, lovely lunch of paella with an excellent bottle of local wine. A wonderful reprieve from the tours.
