Description
Pour de nombreux visiteurs au Pérou et même en Amérique du Sud, une visite dans la ville inca de Machu Picchu est le point fort attendu de leur voyage. Dans un endroit spectaculaire, c’est le site archéologique le plus connu du continent. Cette cité antique impressionnante n'a jamais été révélée aux Espagnols conquérants et a été pratiquement oubliée jusqu'au début du XXe siècle.

À partir de 3h55, la prise en charge à l'hôtel commencera, alors soyez debout tôt et prêt à partir! Vous serez conduit à la gare d'Ollantaytambo, où vous prendrez le train de 6h40 pour arriver à Aguas Calientes vers 8 heures. À votre arrivée, votre guide vous attendra à la gare d’Aguas Calientes pour vous conduire au bus, jusqu’à Machu Picchu. Le trajet en bus dure environ 30 minutes. Vous devriez arriver au Machu Picchu vers 8h45 et entrer sur le site. Lors d’une visite de ce lieu magnifique, votre guide bilingue vous expliquera tout sur le site historique du Machu Picchu et vous permettra de visiter tous les lieux importants de la ville perdue. La visite guidée dure environ 2,5 à 3 heures. Ensuite, vous aurez du temps libre pour flâner et admirer vous-même cet endroit grandiose. Il est possible de sortir du site pour prendre une collation au café, puis de rentrer. Votre billet est valable toute la journée. Facultatif: vous pouvez escalader la montagne de Huayna Picchu (les billets doivent être achetés au moment de votre achat au Machu Picchu), ce qui correspond à un aller-retour de 1,5 à 2 heures. Ce voyage est sans guide. L’heure d’entrée est de 10h00 à 11h00, donc si vous choisissez de faire cette visite, votre visite guidée sera plus rapide afin de terminer à temps pour entrer dans Huayna Picchu. Ensuite, vous descendrez à Aguas Calientes, la ville nommée pour ses sources chaudes. Vous pouvez vous y rendre en bus: le trajet dure 30 minutes et les bus partent toutes les 5 minutes. Ensuite, vous retournerez en train à Cusco. Vous pouvez choisir le train de 16h12 pour revenir directement à Cusco ou le train de 19h00 pour retourner à Ollantaytambo - le trajet dure environ 1 heure et 40 minutes. Un minibus vous attendra à Ollantaytambo pour vous emmener à Cusco (environ 90 minutes).

Try to find a taxi to get to the station and to come back you will save at least 3 hours because in the morning the bus goes around the hotels and the same for the return
Courteous people but precarious structure. Breathtaking landscapes along the way. Long distance but worth seeing. I highly recommend it.
Heidi did an excellent job coordinating our last minute plan to Machu Picchu. She picked us from the train station and sent us our way to Machu Picchu with clear instructions and accommodations . She couldn’t buy entrance tickets due to local protesting but her tour guide was able to help us get tickets. Ronals (aka Ronaldo) was our tour guide. The experience was one of a kind! We were up at Machu Pichu before Sunrise, when the sun came up it was a one in a life time experience.
Everything was planned as they mentioned and amazing as they described it. The whole experience I had transportation and guidance when needed. They were always waiting ahead in each point of the experience. I didn’t feel lost.
As soon as we contacted Heidi, she carefully planned our three day Cusco trip. She’s a pro and knew exactly what we were looking for. A half day city tour where we toured the historic city of Cusco and it’s nearby archeological sites. A trip through the Sacred Valley where we made various stops through its picturesque towns and ancient sites. And an overnight stay in Ollantaytambo before departing via train the next morning for our visit to the incredible archeological site of Machu Picchu. The perfect hotels and wonderful tour guides made it a trip to remember. After a difficult year for all of us, Heidi made us feel welcomed to Cusco and the region and made sure our trip was safe and organized. Though some restrictions are still in place because of the ongoing pandemic, all of the trip is outdoors and did not interfere with our stay.
