Great, great, great .... wir waren total begeistert
The show wasn't great and if it wasn't for the ABBA music I think it would have closed a long time ago. The set is awful and never changes, just consists of a hand turned white building and awful blue striped walls with some obscure thing that might have been a tree every now and then. Couldn't work out what it was meant to be! The songs are as expected, some are better than others, but they all seem to be there in attempt to hold a story together when there really isn't much of a story at all. I don't like that every line in the book seemed to be just to give relevance to the next song rather than having purpose as a line on its own and this all goes against people singing in musicals when they have no words to express how they're feeling. The choreography was average but I guess it works well with this kind of show. The scenes with all the ensemble out were the best ones and the songs at the end with the bows are the highlight. The cast were very good but there's only so much you can do with a badly created show. This is my second time watching Mamma Mia and I hated it both times. It's not the worst show I've seen but I wouldn't recommend it when there are so many other fantastic shows to see in the West End.
I was very excited about the musical "Mamma Mia!" since I already knew the film, and I was not disappointed. It is fun and worth the money; I can only recommend it to everyone, but definitely bring a jacket as the air conditioning is set very cold.
After visiting London a few times, Hubby and I finally made time to see "Mamma Mia!" last month. It was an exciting production that captivated us with its music (all of the actors had amazing voices), choreography, props and emotion. We both watched the two movies prior to seeing the show and we both favored the live production. We booked our tickets in advance so we were able to select exceptional seats (third row). It was great to see the actors up close! Whether you're an ABBA or theater afficionado, we both highly recommend Mamma Mia! You will not be disappointed!
Just had a fabulous day with my teenage daughter in London and managed to get last minute tickets to mama Mia. We had seats in the grand circle which were great and the toilets were close at hand and the bar was just behind. The show was spectacular and the cast were awesome 🤩 👏. My only criticism was the sound, up and down and the microphones were very low and inconsistent. Could have just been an off day. I’ll need to go again and see. Sorry for the 4 stars it was worth 6 👍 just the sound.
I bought tickets to Mamma Mia! as a birthday present for my mum, and honestly… it turned into one of those evenings we’ll talk about for years. From the opening number, the atmosphere was absolutely electric. The whole theatre felt alive — smiles everywhere, laughter, and people gently singing along (and occasionally not so gently). Seeing my mum’s face light up when the ABBA songs started was priceless. She was tapping her feet, quietly singing every word, and completely lost in the moment. That feeling alone made the tickets worth every penny. The cast were phenomenal — full of energy, charm, and emotion. The music was uplifting, nostalgic, and incredibly moving at the same time. It wasn’t just a show; it felt like a shared celebration of life, love, and memories across generations. By the finale, we were both smiling from ear to ear. It’s rare to find a gift that creates such a genuine emotional connection, and Mamma Mia! absolutely did that for us. Pros: - Incredible energy and feel-good atmosphere - Timeless ABBA music that brings generations together - Talented, passionate cast - Perfect choice for a special occasion or gift - Left us happy, emotional, and humming songs all the way home Cons: - Time flew by far too quickly If you’re thinking of buying tickets as a gift — especially for a parent — don’t hesitate. This wasn’t just a birthday present, it was a memory ❤️🎶
The performance was great, if we could have saw it! Our seats were terrible. They said restricted view, but actually they were no view. From your seat you could not even see stage. We paid there to buy different seats.
Mamma Mia was an amazing show, the cast was phenomenal and extremely talented. Mazz Murray (who sadly will be leaving the show) has an incredible singing voice and was terrific in her role, as were all the rest. I particularly liked the agility - both physically and in their acting of Thomas Walton as Pepper, and shout outs to Izi Maxwell as Sophie and Luke Jasztal as Sam who each had capitvting in their roles. Fina shout out to theatre staff for their passivity and their ability to process late arrivals |(which I witnessed at an earlier performance that I didn't attend). Despite the age of the show, the songs remain current and the show is a definite recommendation and must see.
Classic. Definitely worth seeing. The whole family enjoyed it. Great cast, performance and atmosphere.
Absolutely brilliant! The cast were amazing. The lead who plays Donna is sensational. Ive seen this show in London and Broadway but this was the best.
