Great experience and highly recommended. Been waiting for the chance to join the tour and then it came as a surprise gift. A really enjoyable afternoon, expertly led by Peter and in the company of a like-minded bunch interested to hear stories and history of the city, its music and its people from across many years. Well-paced, nicely balanced on the detail, and always easy enough to ask more questions if anyone needed. Even with an active interest and knowledge of the city, there was plenty of nuggets of detail and context, supported by anecdotes and insights about the characters involved, which made it for a highly entertaining trip. Throw in a sociable chat over a pint in an excellent pub to round off the tour, and the day was done. Cheers!
Fantastic way to spend a day in Liverpool and learning about all the different bands and different music that's been in Liverpool. Peter took time for everyone's questions and has loads of stories of all the various locations visited. If you are a music fan or interested in different bands not just bands from Liverpool then there's a very good chance your favourite band has played Liverpool in one of the many locations visited on this tour. Peter was a class guy very down to earth and spoke with everyone. I'd highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a great day out in Liverpool.
What an enjoyable day, learning all about Liverpool's music scene, discovering some absolute gems and authentically delivered by Peter Hooton, utterly fabulous! This is an absolute must for music lovers, you will not be disappointed!
Here’s a natural English review you could post: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an absolutely fantastic time on this music tour in Liverpool. It was compact, well-paced, and packed with fascinating stories and fun facts about many of the city’s iconic clubs, studios, and music landmarks. Peter was an excellent guide. He shared witty anecdotes, made plenty of funny remarks, and brought every location to life with genuine enthusiasm and a clear passion for music. His love for Liverpool’s musical heritage really shone through. I was the only Dutch person in a group of mostly English participants, but I had no trouble understanding him at all. Everything was explained clearly and at just the right pace. Whether that was intentional or simply his natural style, it made the tour very accessible and enjoyable. Peter was always open to questions, although he explained everything so thoroughly that most questions were already answered before they were asked! Thank you so much, Peter, for a wonderful experience. I learned a lot, had a great time, and would happily join another tour with you in the future. Wishing you all the best, and hopefully I’ll see you again someday. Cheers from the Netherlands! 🇳🇱🎵😊
Best day out - as a family of 7 siblings we took our oldest brother as part of his 60th birthday celebrations - we were not disappointed. We learnt so much about the Liverpool music scene, and Liverpool in general. Peter was so knowledgeable on everything - absolutely fantastic day out - I don’t recommend many things, but this, I do.
I travelled down from Newcastle with my girlfriend yesterday for this event.Had a great time with a great host Peter Hooton. An interesting tour of music venues from the past with a smattering of interesting fact about Liverpools heritage.Im a music bore and Peter was happy to engage in conversation , answering my never ending barrage of questions that no doubt he has heard a million times before.Plenty of interesting person stories from Peter too.To top it all off , he came for a few pints after and made everyone feel included and welcome.A free signed lyric sheet too ! 10/10
Went on the tour yesterday with Pete, the stories, personal tales, music history was fascinating and captivating. Pete is so keen to tell his stories from his and the bands journey over such a progressive and transformative time in Liverpools music scene. Never is the tour rushed, hurried or are your questions glossed over. Pete is full of history of the city and the music scene and he could fill days of time with information and fun anecdotes. The tour finished with a pint all together ( now ) soz. Dont miss this tour, it's a belter!
What a must do for music lovers! The four of us have made this unforgettable music tour with host Pete (singer of the Farm) and we enjoyed it so much! Particularly nice extra information that you rarely to never read is heard here and visiting the locations where it all happened in the 60/70/80/90 ties makes it very special. Clearly, the love that host Pete feels for the locations and the accompanying musical memories. The tour confirms what we secretly thought: Liverpool is special, the soul of music and its inhabitants lives on in the streets of this wonderful city! Thanks again Pete for this fantastic day!
Best tour we've ever had. Seen a lot, heard a lot and information that is not widely known. Also important: Pete is very pleasant company, a particularly fine man. The tour does justice to a beautiful music that must be kept alive and honored. It is a wonderful memory for us. Would highly recommend it!
Due to a scheduling mishap, we ended up on a private tour, just me and my husband with Pete Hooton. This was a fantastic way to explore the city if you’re interested in music. It’s a fantastic mix of history that surfaces more obscure Beatles history along with the emergence of other music styles and artists, some you will have heard of, others less so, but their stories are important in the evolution of the music scene. As a host Pete was incredibly passionate and knowledgeable telling stories based on his own experiences as well as the historical facts. Highly recommended.
