Découvrez la ville historique de Sintra, classée au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO, lors d'une excursion d'une journée au départ de Lisbonne. Sintra est une ville située à environ 35 km de Lisbonne. C'est un endroit magique avec des châteaux et des palais et un centre-ville historique époustouflant. Il offre des vues incroyables et également des plages spéciales. L'UNESCO a déclaré le paysage culturel de Sintra site du patrimoine mondial en 1995.
La Quinta da Regaleira est un lieu à ressentir. Il ne suffit pas de vous raconter son histoire, son paysage et ses mystères. Il faut la connaître, contempler la scénographie des jardins et des bâtiments, admirer le Palais, véritable demeure philosophique inspirée de l'alchimie, se promener dans le parc exotique et ressentir sa spiritualité. Le Palais de la Regaleira est le bâtiment principal et le nom le plus courant de la Quinta da Regaleira. Il est également connu sous le nom de Palais Monteiro dos Milhões, nom associé au surnom de son ancien propriétaire, António Augusto Carvalho Monteiro.
Point de vue privilégié sur la côte atlantique, la plaine inondable et les collines de Sintra, le château maure millénaire, fondé sous la domination islamique, occupait alors une position stratégique pour défendre à la fois le territoire environnant et les voies d'accès maritimes à la ville de Lisbonne. Les objets trouvés sur ce site permettent d'identifier comment, entre les murs et leurs zones adjacentes, vivait une population dans une zone aujourd'hui appelée le quartier islamique
L'histoire de ce lieu magique remonte au XIIe siècle, époque à laquelle se trouvait à cet endroit une chapelle dédiée à Notre-Dame de Pena. À cet endroit même, le roi Manuel Ier ordonna la construction d'un monastère, le monastère royal de Notre-Dame de Pena, qui fut ensuite cédé à l'ordre des Hiéronymites.

Neel was exceptional. I need to repeat that exceptional. He went so completely beyond and is the best guide we have ever had, from helping with moody teens, taking amazing photos and videos to making sure we seen and experienced everything Sintra had to offer. He is so knowledgeable, friendly and engaging. Not even only with my family, you see how he interacts with the people around him. From saying hi to babies, talking to the staff at the locations and store owners. He is embedded, invested and proud of his country. It shows in his attitude, his passion to pass on this history and a how hard he works. We will definitely book him again and recommend him to our friends and colleagues that are coming in the fall to Portugal. You will not be disappointed.

The itinerary included three beautiful destinations, each offering something unique and memorable. What really set this tour apart was the convenience—the guide drove us between locations, which made it easy to cover more ground comfortably. Our guide (Mr. Fantastic) was knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about Lisbon’s history and culture. He shared interesting insights and stories at each stop, which made the experience much more engaging and meaningful. We highly recommend it to anyone wanting to see multiple highlights of Lisbon in a smooth, enjoyable way!
This was a great tour. Our guide Hossain was an excellent host. He was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of information along the tour. Doing the tour through Viator had its perks as we were able to advance to the front of the line at Pena Palace, saving a lot of time. Hossain was also very flexible, and allowed us to change the itinerary since it was a private tour. Great tour, great day. Thanks Hossain.
We were scheduled to be picked up at our hotel, the driver never showed up. When we contacted the agency they said they had been to the hotel, insisted that we were being untruthful. Said they had call/texted 5 times, which was incorrect. Thank goodness we were able to contact another tour guide and get on their schedule, otherwise we would have had a wasted day!
We had an amazing time on this tour with our tour guide, Neel, who told us so many information about the history of the area. The moorish castle was very cool and Pena palace was pretty while the Regilera tunnels were so interesting. I very much recommend this tour and Neel is an amazing tour guide!

We had a phenomenal day with Mr. fantastic! This was one of the only tours that we could find that would do the Moorish Castle, Pena Palace, AND Quinta Regaleira. We really appreciated the knowledgeable guide and very smooth logistics of the entire day. We got to see all the sights we wanted in Sintra. The great views and ruins of the Moorish Castle were spectacular. Then, we got to go to the Pena Palace, which our guide was able to deftly navigate the lines, and held our place while we ate at the cafe. We also had a good lunch with a helpful recommendation from Mr. Fantastic. Overall an amazing experience which we would not have been able to do in one day otherwise. Highly recommend!!

The day is full so you need a guide who understand the crowds and what to do when and where. Between Pena Palace, Santa, Moorish Castle, all was completed and avoided big crowds. NAYEM was Awesome!!!
