La visite commence par une promenade dans le vieux Katmandou à la découverte des cours cachées qui exposent des pratiques spirituelles et culturelles médiévales. Départ pour Patan ou Lalitpur, la ville des beaux-arts. Le nom correspond bien à son identité puisque l'art et l'artisanat de Patan se sont répandus en Inde, au Tibet et en Chine à l'époque médiévale. La majorité des habitants de Patan sont encore des artisans et de fervents bouddhistes prétendant être des descendants de Bouddha. Plus de 150 monastères anciens et médiévaux actifs témoignent que Patan est la plus ancienne ville bouddhiste existante. Promenez-vous dans la ville monastique et visitez quelques-uns des monastères exquis datant du 8ème siècle.
Observez le mode de vie hindou et découvrez Shiva en visitant le complexe du temple de Pashupatinath. C'est ici que vous pourrez rendre visite aux ascètes hindous (Shadu) et assister à la crémation ouverte, aux astrologues et aux fidèles. Découvrez la voie hindoue du Karma (action ou acte), de la Bhakti (dévotion), du Jñāna (sagesse) et du Yoga (union de la conscience). I hired Rabi to show me around the cultural and religious sites around Kathmandu for 2 days and I was delighted with his services. He is very personable, professional and knowledgeable. I was particularly impressed by the range of his knowledge from the ancients origins of Kathmandu through the devastating earthquake of 2015 right up to the recent change of government and the GenZ movement.He answered all my questions relating to history, economics, politics, education and development. Our two days together were more like spending time with a knowledgeable friend than a hired guide who just repeated the standard quotations. I highly recommend Rabi's services as a 5-star guide.

I went on multiple amazing day trips in Kathmandu valley, but this was my favorite.
