Itinéraire
Mt.

Just one thing - go for Konong as a guide Superlative in all aspects - knowledge, sense of humour, helpfulness, keeps pace, takes great photos. 5 out of 5 stars
Sunrise hike up Sibayak with Anggi. Amazing tour guide. Speaks fluent English and is very knowledgeable. Accommodates clients of all abilities. Punctual pick up and drop off from hotel in Berastagi. Best coffee on the mountain. The hike itself is easy to moderate depending on your fitness level. We took 1h15 including stops to take photos. You do need a guide as it is easy to go off trail and get lost. Many have done so. Anggi provided torches for the hike in the dark. Ricky drove us back to Medan after breakfast and a short rest. The road trip from Medan to Berastagi and back is not for the faint hearted.
I had an amazing hiking experience, and I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Angki and Ricky for their thoughtful arrangement. Tour guide Angki was extremely professional, with rich knowledge and patient guidance along the way, making the whole hike smooth and enjoyable—I highly recommend him! Ricky was also very responsible, taking good care of every hiker and ensuring my safety at all times. This hiking tour is definitely worth trying!
Hi Jane Thank you for genuine insight. We really appreciate that.
Despite the weather not being the best (it was constantly raining through the entirety of the trip – no matter the location), we had a great time! Our guide Anggi and our driver Andi were both really kind and made sure we had the best time possible. Since Anggi is a local from Berastagi he knew just about everything about Mount Sibayak, Sumatra and Indonesia you could think and ask about. We can highly recommend this tour, Anggi and Andi!
Thank you for hike with us. See you in another adventure with better weather :)
Awesome guide - very good, took the walk at our pace. Lots of stories to be told. Couldn’t have asked for anyone better. If fitter could have done the harder route!
Worth the early morning for such an amazing hike. Guides took good care of us and were really friendly. Perfect hike for people of any skill level
Brilliant! Guide was wonderful and very patient. Lots of experience and knowledge. Had option to go to waterfall, but length of drive was too long so we decided not to go. However guide took us somewhere for lunch and showed us local town instead. NOTE - it is a very steep walk with some scrambling bits, maybe it needs to be explained in the description so those that are booking are aware of this and may need to look at fitness. HOWEVER - guide was great and we did small sections with a breather. Loved his stories and he definitely has nine lives.
Andy picked me up from Medan well in time. We picked up the local guide Jamil in Berastagi and did the last leg of the drive to the bottom of Mt Sibayak. Andy was an excellent driver on the bumpy road. The climb was made special by Jamil who knows the mountain like the back of his hand. Even though the day was cloudy , he managed to speed up and find a spot at the top where clouds were still open. He explained the use of many plants on traditional herbal medicine and also where to find incense. The hot springs are a nice touch at the end of the tour and so was the visit to the museum and market in Berastagi. Excellent experience!
Great sunrise hike with Berastagi Adventure. Pick up was punctual at 2am at the hotel. Jamil was my hiking guide- he is very knowledgeable and passionate about the mountain. Learnt so much from him in one morning!
The hike at the top of this volcano was quite easy and the view was incredible. You have like 3 spot, depending on you level and difficulty you want to get. Our guide Engy was really nice and give us many information on the jungle and volcano. We can see the volcanic fireplace frôle close and also try the hot springs after the walk witch was so good for our muscles. Thanks again to berastagi adventure teams, I highly recommend people who travel around to contact them for living this beautiful experience.
Thank you for trusting us. It was a pleasure for us to show you the beauty of Sumatra Warm Regards Berastagi Adventure Team
