L'arrêt Tarpon Feeding est de loin l'un des points forts de la visite. Nous aimons dire, si vous n’êtes pas encore complètement réveillé, c’est l’arrêt qui est garanti pour faire battre votre cœur! Le tarpon est un poisson massif qui peut atteindre 8 pieds de long et peser jusqu'à 300 livres. Nourrir ces géants bondissants est une expérience inoubliable que vous ne voulez absolument pas manquer en visitant Caye Caulker.
La barrière de corail du Belize mesure environ 287 miles. Lors d'une excursion d'une journée au départ de Caye Caulker, vous explorerez seulement une petite partie de sa magnificence. Notre prochain arrêt est à seulement 8 minutes de Caye Caulker, où nous allons fouiller 2 à 3 zones principales du récif à la recherche de lamantins. Une fois trouvés, nous ferons de la plongée avec eux – bien sûr – tout en maintenant une distance respectueuse et en évitant tout contact ou harcèlement avec ces créatures majestueuses. Si nous n’avons pas de chance au début, nous continuerons vers d’autres arrêts et essayerons à nouveau en revenant à Caye Caulker.
Notre prochaine étape est le Jardin de Corail. C'est ici que vous plongerez et explorerez à votre rythme, que vous préfériez partir en solo ou avec un ami de voyage ou un partenaire, quel que soit votre niveau d'expérience. Bien que le Coral Garden soit situé en dehors de la zone protégée, nous traitons tous les arrêts de plongée avec le même niveau de soin et de respect. Ça veut dire qu'on ne doit pas se tenir debout, toucher les coraux, ou ramasser quoi que ce soit dans le récif. Le Coral Garden abrite une grande variété de flore et de faune magnifiques, y compris des tortues marines, des raies, des requins nourrices, des raies aigles, des murènes et de nombreux types de poissons différents, ainsi qu'un éventail étonnant de formations coralliennes de toutes formes, tailles et couleurs.
Notre petite version du Titanic, la barge engloutie, mesure environ 40 pieds de long et 20 pieds de large. C'est une attraction unique depuis de nombreuses années, grâce à la grande variété de coraux et de poissons qui en ont fait leur foyer. Bien qu'il couvre une petite superficie, il est incroyablement intéressant à sa manière. En tant que grande structure creuse, vous ne savez jamais ce qui pourrait se cacher à l'intérieur ou en dessous, comme les murènes massives, les requins nourrices, les tortues et les poissons-lions. Après plus de 30 ans sous l'eau, la barge est maintenant magnifiquement incrustée d'un mélange vibrant de coraux durs et mous, ajoutant à son charme et son importance écologique.
Ensuite, alors que nous entrons dans la réserve marine de Hol Chan, nous arrivons à Shark et Ray Alley, l'une des étapes de plongée les plus amusantes et passionnantes. Les requins nourrices, qui sont parmi les requins les plus dociles de notre récif, sont la seule espèce de requin que l'on trouve couramment dans cette région. Ils partagent les eaux avec les raies australes et une variété de poissons, tous profitant du nombre limité d'excréments permis dans cette partie désignée de la réserve. Dès qu'un navire entre, les requins commencent à traîner derrière, s'attendant à de la nourriture. Et dès que nous attachons notre bateau à une des lignes de bouées, ils se rassemblent près de la poupe sur tribord, tourbillonnant autour en prévision des sardines. Ces requins peuvent être vus facilement depuis le bord, car ils s’approchent très près du bateau – mais bien sûr, nous vous invitons à monter et à rendre l’expérience vraiment inoubliable.
Le chenal Hol Chan est la première zone de la réserve à être protégée, datant de 1987. Ce chenal regorge de vie marine et offre une expérience de plongée avec tuba incroyable. Puisque nous sommes maintenant à l'intérieur d'une zone protégée, des règles strictes s'appliquent à tous ceux qui entrent et plongent ici. Tous les clients doivent suivre leur guide en tout temps, car la chaîne peut parfois avoir de forts courants et plusieurs groupes de plongeurs en apnée dans la région. Pendant le snorkeling, votre guide vous fournira également des informations pédagogiques sur la vie marine. Il ou elle plongera et, en refaisant surface, identifiera et nommera diverses espèces de poissons et de coraux afin que chacun ait la possibilité d'en apprendre davantage sur l'écosystème sous-marin. Cet arrêt dure généralement environ 30 à 40 minutes, selon les conditions. La sécurité est toujours notre priorité absolue, mais nous voulons bien sûr que tout le monde s’amuse aussi.

We had an amazing day with Alwyn and EJ, swimming with a manatee, sharks, turtles and fish. They are knowledgeable and caring about marine life. This really was a memorable trip.
We had an incredible tour with black hawk tours. The guides and captain Al and EJ were both knowledgeable and environmentally aware. They are passionate to show you the reef while keeping diligent to protect the reefs biodiversity. They are super fun and made the trip even more amazing we were so lucky to see manatees, nurse sharks, eagle rays and turtles along with many beautiful fish species . My girlfriend and I had an incredible experience today on our Hol Chan Marine Reserve tour with Blackhawk Tours. Kelvin was very friendly and helpful explaining everything to us the day before the tour so we knew exactly how to prepare prior to the tour. Our tour was led by Al and Daniel who both offered an amazing and fun experience with their professionalism, overall knowledge and hospitality. We were given a perfect amount of time at each stop of the tour and were fully able to enjoy and take advantage of each experience offered. With opportunities to see many different species of fish, Sting Rays, Sea Turtles, Sharks and even a Manatee, this tour offered incredible and unforgettable experiences. Lunch, drinks and fruit were served onboard and everyone was given time to be able to take a break and eat during the tour. Overall I would recommend this tour 100 % ! The last day of our special birthday trip to Caye Caulker was spent on the boat with the best tour/snorkling guides, Al and EJ from Blackhawk Tours! They were super cool guys, very fun and very knowledgeable. We saw everything and more than we were promised, including the most beautiful male and female couple of manatees that let us just float along and hang out with them in the water for as long as we wanted. EJ is an expert diver, safely drawing hidden animals out from their camouflage and explaining everything in great detail. And the lunch, fruit, and rum punch were perfect! Couldn’t imagine a better day, and an extremely competitive price as well. Do yourself a favor and book with these guys! Walk into the office and chat with Kelvin, he’ll hook you up!

Fantastic tour, didn’t love the shark feedings (bad for wildlife) but the guides were kind and passionate about conservation. They did everything in their power to make sure we had the best experience possible, and I appreciated the smaller size of the group seeing what some of the other boats out there looked like

We had an amazing full day snorkelling trip with Blackhawk Tours Belize and would highly recommend it. Al kept everyone laughing all day, while EJ was so informative about the marine life — they both made the whole experience fun, relaxed and professional. By the end of the day our group of 12 all felt like friends, so shout out to everyone for making it such a great day! They were also incredibly kind and attentive to my mother, who was a little less confident in the water, and made her feel completely at ease throughout the trip. If you’re at all nervous about snorkelling, you’ll be in very safe hands. We were lucky enough to see dolphins, manatees, turtles, sharks, tarpons, sting rays, barracuda, coral and loads of tropical fish - truly unforgettable. Lunch was also fantastic, a plentiful homecooked packed lunch with fresh fruit afterwards. Definitely go for the baked chicken! You will also leave with several free photos and videos they take or let you take with their own GoPro. I didn’t even really need my own phone, they have you covered. Overall, a brilliantly run experience that was absolutely worth the money and one of the highlights of our Belize trip. Thank you thank you to the entire team (office team included too)!
