Ce magnifique lion était à l'origine situé au sommet du Grand Tombeau d'Amphipolis et a été déplacé dans le passé vers son emplacement actuel, à plusieurs kilomètres. loin du site du tombeau.
L'ancienne ville de Philippes a été fondée par le père d'Alexandre le Grand, où nous visiterons la basilique, le théâtre, le Forum romain, la cellule où l'apôtre Paul a été emprisonné mais aussi l'église octogonale, la première église chrétienne d'Europe.
Après le site archéologique, vous continuerez vers le baptistère Sainte Lydie, situé dans un cadre naturel paisible au bord de la rivière Zygaktis. Elle est dédiée à la première femme d'Europe baptisée par l'apôtre Paul, symbolisant le début du christianisme en Europe. Une étape spirituellement significative qui complète la visite à Philippes.
Pendant des siècles, dans la ville de Kavala, Byzantins, Ottomans, Juifs, marchands, travailleurs du tabac, réfugiés et intellectuels se sont mêlés et ont prospéré. Ici, en Macédoine, les routes maritimes ont rencontré l’axe Est-Ouest, les fécondant mutuellement. Vous verrez les entrepôts de tabac et les élégants bâtiments néoclassiques rappelant le passé glorieux de la ville puis profiterez du présent autour d’un repas et d’un verre dans son centre animé sous l’œil du château de la ville ou autour du port.

Nous prenons en charge les clients de tous les hôtels et Airbnb à Thessalonique. Si l'hôtel est inaccessible en voiture en raison de restrictions, le ramassage sera tenu à partir d'un endroit voisin à courte distance de marche. Antonis was great! He had a lot of info, was super nice and friendly. We had a wheelchair with us and he was SUPER accommodating and helpful with it (especially having a vehicle that could fit it). He helps our dad in and out the van and going up and down the steps. He went beyond his duty. Would definitely recommend him.
Really enjoyed the fact that we could climb steps of the theater. Wish we could have gotten closer to the baptistry near the octagonal church. But overall have a renewed appreciation for St. Paul and a better understanding of his encounter with Lydia, his imprisonment, etc. Our driver, Vasilis, was friendly and helpful.
Wow! There’s nothing like seeing and standing in the places we’ve read about in the Bible and in history. Our driver Antonis was professional, warm, and friendly. He gave us above and beyond customer service every step of the way, including making stops for us to take the best pictures. We added on a private guide and she was not only well-versed in the archaeological history of the area, she too was fun and engaging throughout. They both gave our group ample space for personal reflection and she joined us in reading Acts 16 and Philippians 1. The admission to the Philippi archaeological site cost us an additional 10€ per person, but it was worth it. Thankfully, there were not a lot of people at all, so at times it felt like we had the place to ourselves. This is a great trip for college students, faculty, or friends who love ancient history. From the door-to-door service in a private Mercedes van, to the amazing lunch overlooking the sea in Kavala, to the friendly conversation, this 9 hour day trip was worth every dollar and every minute. I highly recommend!

Very good experience in the footsteps of the Apostle Paul. Not necessarily a need for a guide at the sites. Vasilis the driver is very welcoming, cool, a gentleman, flexible, punctual, understanding, and very good on the road. Restaurant with a breathtaking view in Kavala.

Great day after scheduling mix up in the morning. Visillis was a great host and would recommend him to anyone. All of the stops were interesting and enjoyable. If you want to avoid bus tour this is a good option

Adonis our driver was EXCELLENT!!! You know that friend you haven't see in a long time, this is what it felt like being with Adonis! He had a great knowledge of the Bible and brought it to life.
