"Thiksey" monastery makes you to fully appreciate the breathtaking surroundings. Within the monastery, you'll encounter an impressive array of stupas and statues. The twelve stories of this architectural marvel house various sections adorned with significant artifacts. The "Hemis" monastery is largest monastery in Ladakh founded in under the patronage of King Sengge Namgyal. Must visit places include the Main assembly hall, Old temple (1st floor), Butter lamp offering room and the Museum with its incredible collection of Buddhist art and artifacts collected and donated through the centuries. Please keep minimum 2 hrs in hand to explore this place.
