Description
Le Parc national des lacs de Plitvice est un phénomène karstique géologique et hydrogéologique particulier. Le complexe des lacs de Plitvice a été proclamé parc national le 8 avril 1949. C'est le parc national croate le plus grand, le plus ancien et le plus visité. Il représente une zone de montagne boisée avec 16 lacs de différentes tailles, remplis d'eau cristalline. Les lacs sont alimentés par de nombreux cours d'eau et sont reliés par des cascades et des chutes d'eau. Barrières assis, qui ont eu lieu sur une période de dix mille ans.

Les lacs de Plitvice sont le plus ancien et le plus grand parc national de la République de Croatie. Le parc est situé dans la région montagneuse de Croatie, entre la chaîne de montagnes Mala Kapela à l'ouest et au nord-ouest et la chaîne de montagnes Lička Plješivica au sud-est. Administrativement, le parc relève de deux comtés : Lika-Senj (90,7 %) et Karlovac (9,3 %). Avec sa beauté naturelle exceptionnelle, cette région a toujours attiré les amoureux de la nature, et déjà le 8 avril 1949, elle a été proclamée premier parc national de Croatie. Le processus de formation du tuf, qui aboutit à la construction des barrières de tuf, ou travertin, et a abouti à la création des lacs, est la valeur universelle exceptionnelle, pour laquelle les lacs de Plitvice ont été internationalement reconnus le 26 octobre 1979 avec leur inscription sur la liste du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO. En 1997, les limites du parc national ont été élargies et il couvre aujourd'hui une superficie d'un peu moins de 300 km2. Le parc est principalement couvert de végétation forestière

Very smooth experience, due to his excellent communication prior, and detailed explanation to make sure we knew where to walk and suitably prepared. Also great that he checked how we were going on our hike and making sure we were going the right direction. Very polite and professional. We had an amazing time and the national park was stunning! William picked us up right in front of the cruise port on time (early even) in a nice air conditioned car. He took us to the Plitvice Lakes and once arrived he explained what paths to take and approximate time it would take. He was then waiting for us as soon as we were ready to head back out. Overall, good conversation and good experience!
