Cette visite est l'une de nos plus recommandées à Zanzibar et comprend les deux (2) activités incontournables à Stone Town ; Prison Island (Île de quarantaine) et Nakupenda Sandbank. À Prison Island, vous apprendrez l'histoire de l'île, l'ancienne station de quarantaine et vous pourrez également voir les animaux ; Tortue géante d'Aldabra, dik-diks, paons, etc. Arbres et plantations, portes de Zanzibar, ruines de prison et bien plus encore. Nakupenda Sandbank est l'un des plus grands bancs de sable de Zanzibar. À Nakupenda, vous pourrez profiter de la baignade et de la plongée en apnée, vous détendre dans l'eau la plus calme, du buffet de déjeuner que vous avez sélectionné (fruits de mer ou végétarien) et bien plus encore. Lors de cette visite, nous passerons par Stone Town où vous pourrez voir certains des sites populaires; Vieux fort, parc Forodhani, Maison des merveilles (musée national), port de Zanzibar, State House, etc. Aussi, c'est là que nous prendrons un bateau pour Prison Island puis à Nakupenda Sandbank puis plus tard après le voyage, nous retournerons à Stone Town.
À Prison Island, vous pourrez voir la tortue géante d'Aldabra, les paons, le Dik-dik (espèce de petite antilope), les ruines de la prison, etc. Un fait intéressant à propos de la tortue géante d'Aldabra est qu'elle peut vivre plus de 200 ans. Le plus vieux de Prison Island a 197 ans. Ils sont l'un des animaux les plus anciens du monde. Ruines de la prison: C'est un bâtiment qui a été érigé en 1983 pour accueillir la prison centrale de Zanzibar. La construction de la prison a commencé en 1893, la même année, ils avaient été une épidémie de choléra en Egypte et peu de temps après la peste bubonique à Bombay. Étant donné que Zanzibar était le principal port d'Afrique de l'Est, les autorités ont décidé que la prison et les autres bâtiments érigés devaient se tenir prêts en tant que station de quarantaine à des mesures de contrôle appropriées pour les navires et leurs passagers afin d'éviter le risque d'épidémie dans l'archipel de Zanzibar.
Nakupenda est un nom donné à un banc de sable situé à proximité de StoneTown, après le voyage sur l'île de la prison, nous irons à Nakupenda Sand Bank où vous vous détendrez, nagerez et ferez de la plongée en apnée. C'est l'une des plus belles plages de Zanzibar. De plus, nous aurons un buffet basé sur votre sélection, soit un buffet de fruits de mer ou végétarien qui sera fraîchement préparé au Sandbank
Après Nakupenda Sandbank, nous retournerons à Stone Town avec un bateau puis vous ramènerons à votre hôtel / hébergement

It was an amazing experience with them, especially our guide Ahmed who was very nice and explained everything in detail. He also accomodated our dietary preferences, as we are vegetarian and the lunch provided was delicious.
Amazing scenery, awesome fresh seafood. Considerate tour guides and drivers. The boat rides to and from the islands are small old boats so try to pack minimally.

My husband and I had a beautiful time with the best tour guide, Selma! The prison island was cool, the sandbank was beautiful and the lunch was delicious! The only thing is, if you get sea sick, I would not recommend! The boat ride can be very rocky! Overall, amazing excursion!
Its the memory The Prison Island, also known as Changuu Island which is located in the western part of Zanzibar Island, just off Stone Town. It takes around 25 minutes by local boat riding from the Stone Town beach. The island’s main attraction is the popular Giant Tortoises, who can live up to 200 years. In this tour, you will get a chance to explore and learn the history of these beautiful creatures and also about Prison Island itself. You will be with our expert local tour guide who will be explaining each area of interest. Apart from being a place where you can go to see the Giant Tortoises, it also is a perfect destination to do swimming, & Relaxing on the beach. Therefore after all information about the Island, then you will have time for swimming & relaxing on the beach. which lasts till now.

My family did love this trip, we had an amazing time at both places, Prison Island and Nakupenda Sandbar. Also the lunch at Nakupenda was great combinations of seafoods, if you will have Snorkeling mask, please bring it as there is a little reef where you can snorkel and enjoy the beauty of underwater.
There was a change in our tour guide at the last minute and Abuu arrived at our hotel for pickup at 9:30 AM. It was raining in Stone Town that morning and he asked if we wanted to wait. But we forged ahead to the docks and waited briefly for the food and fuel to be loaded on the boat. As soon as we left the harbor, the rain stopped and Abuu started telling us about all the islands in the area. Even though he was very young, Abu knew a lot about Prison Island and took us to see a lot of big tortoises! But the highlight of the trip was Nakupenda Sandbank. By that time, the sun came out, we took amazing photos, and swam in the clear blue water. After an hour, we were invited to a seafood feast. The lobster, prawns, and octopus were excellent; and so were the chips (fries)! We stuffed ourselves so full that we didn't even get to the fruit platter. Then the rains came back in at 3 PM and they took us back a little early to Stone Town. Sultan Tours really came through this time -- we highly suggest their services when booking this tour
